If avenger is being unused it's because it is boring and not because it isn't powerful enough. Same with Terastodon, Cyclonic Rift, etc. People move away from cards they get tired of crutching with.
Liege of the Tangle has a few dollars price, it's not so absurdly invaluable. It deserves to have its price come down with this printing so that people can more realistically toss it into a random bum deck.
