Yeah, not the most competitive card for modern/legacy but it is apparently loved in command, and command is a big reasson for most "inflations" in cards' price.
Wx Voltron builds love this thing. It was a beast in my Zurgo build back when I was playing it. Mind you, that was a while ago but still a fine tool in that deck, but still I'm a little surprised by the value.
This card is quite strong in commander and I don't think it has been reprinted, which explains its relatively high current value. Tap it and pay 2 to put Argentum Armor on another dude and swing is still a thing. Skipping the casting cost and equip cost of the equipment is cool.
This will probably drop by a fair amount since it is not played outside of commander - but that's the point of a reprint set, right?
This is certainly one spicy meatball. Yeah, it's too slow for "real" magic, but it's gotten dumber and dumber over the years when you get it rolling like Sovreigns of Lost Alara. WTF +20/+20 out of nowhere? That's just silly.

Today on Cards I Thought Were Worth Nothing, this thing. It's still mostly worthless play-wise, but $9 is $9.
