It’ll be nice if we get a sneak peek at the product lineup into 2021.
When did they reveal the sets for 2020? Was it around this time in 2019?

September, they did along with the office Elddraine spoiler season.
Mark said this was just a look at Zendikar and hints at what is coming, its more comparable last year when they showed off art for Throne of Eldraine and talked a little on the themes and that the Kenriths where the protagonists.

"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
Maro is not good at conveying information. I understand they want their hype man to hype but I would prefer clear concise info. I had to watch the section on the new packs a few times to understand what they will contain.
If fetches are on “the list” (AKA 1/240 chance of opening one when I buy a more expensive booster... or 1/120 if they include all ten instead of just enemy fetches)... tables might be flipped.
Other than that, I don’t really know what to think of Set boosters. I appreciate that they will probably drive prices down a bit for Zendikar (their first appearance) as there’s one more way that packs are going to be cracked but the idea of making packs for cracking seems... dangerous.
I acknowledge that these packs kind of need to cost more than draft boosters because starting drafts might be difficult for stores (post-COVID) if players feel that their money is best spent on an equally expensive pack with superior EV. As that superior EV is not guaranteed, however, this product feels like more blatant loot box shenanigans. These packs do seem like they would be pretty catchy for box-opening videos on YouTube, though, due to the random chance factor.
I also wonder how many newer players will switch from draft boosters to these in the absence of easily accessible in-person drafts... and what degree of faith that LGSs will put into them.
So this was more or less to convey stuff we knew would happen for the most part: land matters, return of two mechanics (hello landfall and probably Kicker) with a Nissa-centric set and story arc (assumed based on potential images of her scaling landscapes in the art reveal).
I laughed at Maro when he said over half of packs bought don’t do anything other than being added to a collection. Funny, isn’t that what happens after draft?
(I want to know what those five six new duals are).

Judging by the talk of using an old and much loved mechanic with a new twist, I’d say that the leaked DFC duals are a possibility for at least 5 of them. No real clue what number 6 would be, though, unless it’s a colorless land//mana confluence or something similar.
Can someone summarize the video for those of us who can't access Youtube?
Zendikar will be land focused again
No Eldrazi but we will see the ruin they caused
Two Zendikar returning mechanics and a new mechanic that is a new twist on something old and beloved
Three returning walkers, other sources confirm them as Jace, Nissa, Nahiri
6 dual lands that Maro designed many years ago and he is very excited about
Full art Lands
A new boosters that is designed to be opened by people who open draft boosters but don't draft. Its expected to cost about $1 more than a normal booster. Have a guaranteed foil. 3 extra chances at a rare or mythic, an art card from the set and a chance at a card from a curated list that contains old cards as a pick up. (No fetchlands)
Full contents of set pack (for reference)
1 art card (like modern horizon) with change of being signed.
1 land with chance of being foil.
1 uncommon
5 commons that are linked in some way (flavor, creature type, strategy, etc) with each other and the uncommon. Each of these commons independently has a certain chance of being an uncommon instead.
1 common/uncommon showcase or otherwise special card.
2 cards of any rarity (can be rare/mythic)
1 normal rare/mythic
1 foil card
1 token/add card that has a 25% chance of being replaced with a card from “the list”, a list of 300 cards throughout magic history that will appear with their original art and frame and with a planeswalker symbol in the corner (like mystery boosters). The list of cards on the list will gradually shift from set to set.
Costs a little over a normal pack.
Boxes will hold 30 boosters.
Cards on “the list” will eventually be made known.

also one legend that’s gaining another color
But IM infinitely sure you Guys/gals can guess who that is in less than 2 seconds heck they revealed that character as the poster boy for the collector booster of zendikar rising
In the past, 1 in every 8 rares was a mythic rare. Starting with Zendikar Rising, that will be changing so that 1 in every 7.4 rares will be a mythic rare. This will also be true of Draft Boosters.
Just highlighting this. Slipped that one in under the radar in the mothership article.
I wonder what prompted them to make this change?
More art. I like the small hedron head guy. My guess is it'll be a common or uncommon Elemental. The island could be a basic.
There's also Sea Gate - looks like a land, but could also be a spell I guess. The fifth pic from the previous post is a closeup shot of the area right in front of the tower, from a different angle. Sea Gate is where Ulamog was sealed if I remember correctly, so maybe its a really important location now.

I would guess maybe the sheer number of high-dollar Mythics they’ve created over the past few years has prompted them to make them a little less rare.
Final four artworks. The third one gives off strong GW dual vibes, but I guess it could also be a basic forest.
My guess is basic forest.
Perfect artwork to showcase the world here— Zendikar healing from the devastation of the Eldrazi. And not very dramatic looking compared to most duals. Maybe a common dual.
