Tinybones, Trinket Thief 1B
Legendary Creature- Skeleton Rogue
At the beginning of each end step, if an opponent discarded a card this turn, you draw a card and lose 1 life. 4BB: Each opponent with no cards in hand loses 10 life. Big distractions mean tiny nuisances can slip by unnoticed.
How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Sure, mindslicer and awaken erstwhile and the like if you want to get opponents hellbent for the second ability, but I think what you really want with this little dude are repeatable, every-turn discard effects. Bottomless Pit springs to mind, since tiny's ability looks EACH end step, so you'll get a card after each opponent's turn.
For your turn, specter tribal seems cute. Words of Waste, as @Borealis said, kind of does it all - gets you a discard on your turn, and gets all your opponents a lot closer to hellbent.
I love the idea of drawing an extra card each turn in EDH, but repeated discard is pretty feel-bad for everyone else and I tend to avoid that play style if I can.
The best card for this imo is Oppression. Tinybones only triggers once per turn, so you want each opponent discarding on their own turns, not all at once as in Mindslicer, Nicol Bolas, the Ravager, etc. All the card draw Tinybones gives you mitigates the drawback of Oppression and your opponents will not be able to keep up unless they have removal in hand already.
And if you have Geth's Grimoire out with your Words of Waste you can turbo discard the table. As every time someone discards, you may draw a card, and if you do opt, you cna pay 1 instead for that draw. Which means each opponent discards another card.
As a land, you can run Geier Reach Sanitarium as now everyone discards and draws, but you draw an extra card at end of turn.
Noxious Vapors. This really is inconsequential versus mono-color decks. But against the typical tricolor deck, this likely to force a discard 3. And if its a five color deck, that is potentially discard 5 for 3 mana.
Wound Reflection. So we pay six and cause each opponent to lose 10 life with Tinybones. At end of turn, they lose 10 life again.
Wow, that would be so good in modern. Wizards I extremely dislike your this set but not that set goes into modern policies. Didn't even know about that rogue discard effect. Still seems worth it. Need to look up rogues. Triton Shorestalker Lots of unblockable rogues now.
I'm torn between liking it because it's adorable and everyone will underestimate it, and disliking it because it gains no benefit whatsoever from making your opponents discard artifacts, which is a definite vibe I'm getting from the name.
It also sounds like a great name for a kids cartoon character. Tinybones and his friend Jellybeans, stealing cookies and running around pretending to be rogues.
