"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
At 6 mana it's too expensive to see any real competitive play, but holy smokes my johnny senses are tingling. When you can get the value out of this it's awesome.
Why, seriously why? They already had cryptic command why does blue need ANOTHER freaking toolbox card like this? Even at 6cc this will be played especially in U/W control builds because three of the modes are pretty much assured to be used at once each time you use the thing and the fourth can help you end the game with your trump creature being copied. Least with cryptic you could only choose two modes.

It's 6 mana. No competitive deck wants a six-mana counterspell outside of Limited and Cube, no matter how many things are stapled on it. Sure, the ceiling is amazing, but both this and Cryptic Command have the same floor as Dismiss, and no one will play Dismiss for six mana.

Did you forget cryptic command is played in modern? Despite the cost.
But this Will Not hit modern it's just another untility knife card for commander

Right but cryptic is 4 mana. They are saying that a counter + draw is not playable at 6 mana and since the other modes are less likely to be used they aren't worth that extra mana.
Too expensive at 6 mana, even in edh. You still need efficiency in commander or youll get stomped. While its versatile sure, its also overkill and ties up too much mana to do it. Basically, you want cheap and/or free to protect your combos, or to stop someone elses, once youre up at 6 mana it just takes up too many resources. The majority of 4+ mana counters are just so outclassed, adding more modes doesnt really fix that. While mystic confluence and cryptic are quite playable their modes are a little better and i think that 6 cost is just expensive enough to not be worth it outside of babys first control deck
TO be fair the counterspell part is the only conditional part the other 3 modes are always going to be picked.
So this card's minimum effect will be:
Return target nonland permanent to its owner’s hand.
Create a token that’s a copy of target creature you control.
Draw a card.
Which is a more powerful form of Supplant Form at the same cost.
I could see this being played as a two of in control at most. In EDH I'd rather stick to my good ol' Overwhelming Denial, but this is another great option to get a lot of value for one card.

Only in EDH, and I don't even think the clone ability would be always picked. I'm thinking card draw, then counterspell, then bounce, then Stifle, then clone.

The only case in which I see the copy ability not being picked is that you dont control any creature, otherwise is a free body, so why not?

Despite the mana cost, something makes me like this. I don't think it'll see too much play in very many places because of the mana cost, but when you can pull it off, this seems appropriately crazy for a 6 mana instant.
Is it too much to ask for other colors (especially white) to get this sort of thing? Blue already has cryptic, and Archmage's Charm, and Mystic Confluence.
White deserves a "exile an artifact, exile an enchantment, exile an attacking creature, gain 5 life, return a card with cmc 3 or less from your graveyard to play" version of this.
This is the perfect example of a card that has to be played with other instant speed threats. If you keep 6 mana up for a whole turn cycle in commander only for nothing threatening enough to counter or there be no token worth copying and have nothing else to do with that mana you’re gonna lose that game real quick. But this is a very powerful card.
Can i order the trigger as i want? Can i copy my creature first and the return it to my hand?

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Also just realized where this fits in an extended cycle of sorts:
3: archmage’s charm
4: Cryptic Command
5: Mystic Confluence
6: Sublime Epiphany
I can’t wait until the 7-CMC version lets us take an extra turn (jk).

Secondly, if you can start copying this spell for significantly less than six mana, it becomes pretty brutal.
And while not feasible for the counterspell part, once you've imprinted this on Panoptic Mirror, it's value town every upkeep!

Me: Cast Sublime Epiphany countering it, copying my Dream Trawler, and drawing a card.
