Conclave Mentor GW
Creature- Centaur Cleric

I'm really liking the "real world" animals mixing in fantasy. Like yes of course pigs that can sniff out truffles would be a predator to mushroom creatures.

While I like Conclave Mentor, he's no Winding Constrictor - the former is restricted to +1/+1 counters, while the snake doubles all kinds of counters, and therefore has more broad applications. Mentor is still a cool card!
If I mutate a Wildwood Scourge and then cast another copy of the Hydra, it would go infinite, right?
I was wondering this myself and I think that it will go infinite, since a mutated creature only has the creature types of the topmost card.
702.139e A mutated permanent has all abilities of each card and token that represents it. Its other characteristics are derived from the topmost card or token.
Edit- I just realized that mutating onto Wildwood Scourge and then casting another isn’t the same as casting it with Enduring Scalelord on the battlefield. Its triggered ability is missing the “may” that scalelord has. This means having a mutated scourge on the battlefield and then casting a 2nd scourge ends the game in a draw since the player cannot stop both cards from infinitely triggering eachother unless they have a removal spell, sac outlet or stifle effect.

No, because Wildwood Scourge cares about "another non-hydra creature", so it can't trigger off itself, even if it's not a hydra anymore. If you have two of them, both mutated into non-hydras, and then put a +1/+1 counter on one, then they'd go infinite... but not in a good way. Since they don't have "May" in their card text, they'd lock the game in a draw after all that setup, unless you have something to sacrifice one at instant speed.
If you have 2 of those hydras mutate soo that you have a infinite loop, if you use ram through as a way to win the game or draw (if they counter it) in my book you have extra style points.
Out of idle curiosity, what's MTGA's policy regarding intentional creation of infinite loops? If I enter a deck whose entire point is vulpikeet-ing these hydras to technically never lose a game, would I bet kicked off for unsportsmanlike behavior? I remember someone getting in trouble for slow play relating to Nexus on MTGA but that was a super lengthy process whereas an infinite loop would be immediately established.

A colorshifted Winding Constrictor and other +1/+1 counter enablers show up today. Oh, and a Saproling-finding pig.

Which would draw the game without a way to remove one since it’s not a may ability.
Thankfully Scalelord has a may clause.
