Silkspore Weaver 2G
Creature- Spider
Reach, hexproof from blue
Whenever Silkspore Weaver is dealt damage, gain 1 life and create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token It weaves its web in the undercity, and from it strange sprouts grow.
1/4
So a Spider with Enrage that makes Saproling tokens. That's a lot of tribes.
That hexproof against blue feels random AF, on the other hand this is one of the best roadblocks I've seen in a long time, the standard "swing with two bears against the single 1/high toughness blocker" swarming strategy is blunted by this. A powerful Limited card for sure, and there's probably a weird infinite Saproling combo hidden in there I guess.
Will be fun to put it into gruul, rakdos, or jund decks where you can have things like Pestilence so you can activate the ability three times, get three dudes, and two death triggers.

I'm thinking the hexproof from blue is more of a way to catch Dream Trawler.

Remember its hexproof, not protection, so its not really going to block the trawler unless its being used as a sacrificial lamb or with a combat trick that buffs it.

It does, however, protect it from 3feri; and even more so it not only prevents it from being hit by Petty Theft, but its also swallows Brazen Borrower in combat.
This spider is in the Undercity, which is cute, but flavor wise it is a fail as it is not going to hold up for very long against the Rakdos and Dimir whatsoever.
This should’ve been a 2/4 if you want to be brutally honest.

It probably would have costed 4 then. I'm actually surprised it isn't a 1/3.

They kind of have to with the absolute over abundance of good removal theyve jammed into standard
Its obnoxious as **** to just run into a wall of removal in every single deck lately
