1U, discard "Whale Whale": Look at the top two cards of your library. Put one into your hand,

Funny story: Google translate auto-detected this as Japanese, and before I noticed I read the card. The translation
Google did had a number of expletives. Thankfully, I then noticed it detected it as Japanese, switched it to
Chinese, and it made a lot more sense.
It's Cycling+. I like it. Although it has a similar issue to Eat to Extinction in my mind, except instead of
being Surveil in a format with Surveil and not being surveil, it's kind of Cycling, but not.
I actually kinda like this. Reanimator is an archetype in my peasant cube, and not only is this a passable beater in control, but it's also a decent reanimation target that puts itself in the bin while digging toward your reanimation spell. It can even potentially put another juicy target into your yard while doing so, so it seems sweet to me.
I wonder if there will be a cycle of high CMC uncommon creatures in this set that have a pseudo-cycling ability. Probably not, but I hope so!
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
I was just making room in my sultai mill/reanimator EDH deck for Titanoth Rex and Void Beckoner, I was excited to have fatties that discarded themselves for profit. This seems at least as good, maybe better.
So it's a smaller Anticipate with the upside of being a big body late. I can't help but wonder if the first ability is to make them bounce off each other in control mirrors. Do they anticipate this being played in standard for the card selection?
I wonder if there's a token theme in limited that this is trying to stabilize you against.
