Uh... is there a card missing here? The cards are numbered 91, 92, 94, and 95. There's no 93 that I'm seeing, unless that's intended to be a super secret surprise or somesuch?
Once upon a time there was this thing called Expeditions/Masterpieces..
They were a big deal for a year or two until they realized they kinda "mined the space" a bit too aggressively and (shock!) realized that weren't actually a limitless number of themes you could do before running into really random stuff. Lesson Learned.
Ok, WHAT now?
Lol. Who is this product for, exactly? I have absolutely no idea what they are doing with these. Each new one somehow manages to be MORE niche than the one that preceded it. I mean....it's really something.
Things might be significantly better in all formats if they put these same resources into, I dunno...beefing up the playtesting department? You know, something the game actually *NEEDS*. Pretty sure we'll survive without ANOTHER BoP reprint.
This is basically the magic version of cosmetic items in free to play video games.
Honestly, I like this model, it's not random, you just buy the thing that you want. It is also a way to separate the magic card collector from the magic the gathering player. Yes, there are plenty of people that are both, particularly for commander, cube and non-rotating deck purposes.
The major problem is of course ideally this would be paired with a reprinting of the basic game pieces *cough* Fetchlands *cough*, So collectors have these sweet pretty things and magic players can just use the basic game pieces and both people end up happy.
It will be more... Gideon Blackblade is the first stain-glass planeswalker and has the number SLD 503.
That implies that there are 502 "regular" cards in the Secret Lair Drop Series, and we didn't see 100 yet.

This might be one of the few interesting ones for me, I love the art and would play with many of these.
That said...I'd rather get the fetchlands, and I'm not sure if the cards have "warp-foils", which is a huge concern.

Being super niche the whole point of Secret Lairs. If these were just regular niche, they'd be showcase cards or otherwise sold in stores. But imagine being a store owner and having to order a product that there is a decent chance 0 people will want. These exist to make a very, very small portion of the fanbase super happy and be ignored by everyone else.
And Wizards beefing up the playtesting department is the reason why we're in this mess. They created the Play Design team and hired a bunch of new people, then got overconfident and deliberately raised the average powerlevel, even though Play Design was by definition inexperienced because the job had only existed for a short while.
Please, mill me. Mill my important cards. Mill my lands. Mill it all. Because I will still deal 20 damage before you can mill 45 cards most every time.

Also, missed out on reprinting Swans of Bryn Argoll, which has always been a mystical card to me...
