i mean... do you know anything about early magic? Have you ever seen power armor or invasion plans?
All these people scared about mtg going sci-fi... mtg started with a lot of sci fi in it.
The yugioh style for the monster is for showcase cards. Same as eldraine and theros ones. The sky isn't falling.
Indeed. It's a bit sad that MTG players love to complain about their favorite game just for the sake of complaining. Although I hated when Maro said this, "not every product is for you" is plenty right for this situation. Plus, I feel like the art of the game, the lore and the aspects rounding the game are secondary to the game itself and I hardly see how adopting an alternative art style could harm the very game we play.

My favorite thing about MTG Salvation is the "Ignore User" feature.

It ties well with the semi-Godzilla theme of mega monsters and kaiju. I'm not the biggest fan of it, but it makes sense why they did it. I'm not worried.
I'm concerned all the monsters mostly look the same right now.
That’s probably because we either saw the types with dinosaur or beast the only acception is the red one it’s probably the cat nightmare (multiple eyes and is pouncing like any old big cat)
Beside the ebook cover one is different from the one on the key art
And mark already confirmed not all of them will look the same

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

not when it’s the most requested to receive one. Not when it’s demonstrated its popularity twice. Not when it’s tried and true. This is the first visit to Ikoria. It has something to prove first.!

While I agree with the Ikoria part of that statement I can't imagine, of all of the planes of Magic, that Theros was the most requested one. I think that's your bias for the plane shining through. Considering how much influence D&D already takes from Greek myth I can imagine that for most people Theros was pretty low on their radar for a D&D sourcebook. Especially when compared to much more unique planes like Zendikar or Mirrodin or Kamigawa. Or even Dominaria which, while not necessarily unique, definitely has more clamor for it to have more lore brought to it and even opened up to become a fully fledged campaign setting.

But the original article with the James Wyatt Interview actually stated that Theros was the most requested/popular plane for a DND book. I don’t have the link to it on my phone but that was my source for that statement.

Them saying "We missed the window for release" "we hope to find a way and time to release it" was a pretty clear sign for this, otherwise they would have just said the book was delayed. The fact you didn't see this coming is on you.

For context Theros being requested was AFTER the plane shift series started with BtZ and they knew they would be making one for Dominaria and Ravnica (if the Ravnica book hadn't been already in the works).

Vagni?

Anvig?
Ingav?
If the leaks were any indication, as false as they may be, I'd go with something akin to Ivang. I don't know, I'm getting a very strong Malaysian/Indonesian feel for this plane. But that all depends on how the lore shapes out to be between now and, well, release.

I would rather see storytelling resources devoted to new spaces than Theros which has the weight of thousands of years behind it. Have you read the classics? There is a good online collection here. I'd begin with Works & Days and Theogony, then of course Homer's epics - and Virgil's Aeneid - before diving into the Orphic hymns. Good reading!

So even if Ikoria proves itself your gonna say no/it’s bad/ or whatever
