Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
T3: Ayara, First of Locthwain
T4: this lovely card
T5: Gray Merchant, sac to Ayara.
Yeah, I'd just love to point out that this represents a life swing of 36 points (heal 18, deal 18) before you attack with this guy on turn 5.
Very much magical christmas land but that is an awesome direction.
Is it really THAT much of a Magical Christmas Land, though? It's just three cards on curve, that have very good synergy together. If you're playing a monoblack devotion-style deck, I wouldn't think this would be all that hard to do consistently. Let's not throw out that it's got some built-in resistence to disruption in that the demon gives you a mini-Ayara token if she gets offed before you can drop Gary.
In all honesty, this is my favorite new card of the set so far.
Neat, I made a Sliver Legend a loooooong time ago that had this exact same ability (minus the exile).
I guess this can fill the same role even if it isn’t a Sliver.
This card is crazy. I’d exile every time considering all the grave hate out here. If an enchantment creature dies you get a copy of it which triggers constellation again? That’s insane

Yeah, I don't think this is magical Christmas land at all. The deck should also run Yarok's Fenlurker because of how well it works with all three of the above cards- devotion for Gary, leaves a body beyond to sac to Ayara, and an enters-battlefield ability to repeat with the demon.
LOVE this card. And I think monoblack devotion could be a major player in new standard now.

heck, jam it in edh and its easily every game land, especially with ayara as your commander. often for even more of a life swing and even more life loss to your opponents
