Did this thing hitch a ride with Ashiok from Ravnica (assuming Ashiok was even on Ravnica for War of the Spark) to Theros? This also rewards surveil really well.

He literally has a card in War of the Spark meaning he was there.

They.
I adore this card, and it's going right into my Multifarious/surveil deck. Surveil can sometimes not be fast enough to get the right cards into the graveyard for Lazav to become, this helps smooth that out and attacks alongside the Multifarious, too. Very cool.

From the flavor text just seems like a monster in the underworld.

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
Shame it doesn't count it per card that goes in, else you're better off only doing it once for the effect. Still, unblockable 3 damage base can be game-winning in some limited circumstances.

It says "one or more," meaning it counts all cards that were milled, not each. Otherwise it would say, "Whenever a card is ut into your graveyard from your library, ~ gets +1/+1 until end of turn."
That's the way I understand it anyway.

I can't see the art well, but I am all for more nightmares and horrors being in the game. Ever since I saw Bloodcurdler back in the day, I was fully on board. I love the direction art can take with creature types like those. As far as the card goes, it's kinda like Inkfathom Infiltrator, one of my fave cards from Lorwyn block.
