Aphemia the Cacophony1B Legendary Enchantment Creature -- Harpy

At the beginning of your end step, you may exile an enchantment card from your graveyard. If you do, create a 2/2 black Zombie creature token.

The artist did an exceptional job with the nyx Starfield effect though. It’s beautiful. Some of my favorite examples of this effect are on black cards. It’s more than just sparkles but looks genuinely celestial
Looks like pretty much an auto-include in any enchantment themed deck with black in it in standard. Even if you only get one proc on the turn you play it it's pretty solid and it can do a half-decent Field of the Dead impression if you have the fuel. Though it might be a problem fighting for space with other graveyard synergies that want to return the cards, count the total, or exile them for another effect.
Wow this looks pushed the only downside is being legendary (and even that is not really bad cause she feeds off other copies) this on a 2/1 flying body.

And with only 1 toughness and no protection, it'll be a magnet for removal so you will often want the extra copies to replace it with.
A bit awkward having legendary enchantment creatures that aren’t gods or demigods. But I don’t think she’s the first. The PW is another lore-wise I suppose
Mono black is awkward, I would be really hard pressed to find enough black enchantments to run this as a commander, let alone get them in my yard. A shame, blue black would have been perfect.
Seems like a lot of hoops to jump through for a fairly anemic payoff. My mind draws the comparison to Order of Midnight, which I think is just a better card in most decks and more consistently reliable in said decks.
Even if you do manage to get a 2/2 every turn... is there an existing deck that actually cares about that other than maybe Simic Flash (if that's even still a thing)?

As a general note, I do not snip/notate every post that’s reported. If you see something out of line, report it and don’t engage it. We are seeing your reports, and infracting as needed. Now bring the discussion back to the card and just the card.

When a new legend comes out, I always immediately consider them as a possible Commander.
For that, it seems lackluster. It's quick and easy, but it's still just one token per turn.
Seems more likely to be useful in an aggro non-commander deck.

Yeah, I wish it was on each player's turn, but that might be too good for Standard? Would have made it much better in EDH, though.

The card itself is pretty decent. A good rate on the body, flying and if you can self mill a bit, you got a good engine going.

I've been having some decent success at FNM with an Alela, Artful Provocateur deck using cards like Starfield Mystic and Dead Weight. Starfield Mystic + Dead Weight is already a sick sequence against opposing aggro decks, but being able to Dead Weight a small creature turn 1, followed by turn 2 Aphemia the Cacophony could be pretty awesome. Not to mention, Mystic makes Aphemia cost only B, allowing for double/triple spell turn 3.

I love black, enchantments, and sacrifice effects! I hope you're right!
