i'd mostly run it in edh decks that are colored permanent heavy, and i probably wouldn't run it anywhere else. it might allow some crazy stuff in standard, but idk. 4 mana, into play tapped, can you afford to lose that kind of momentum in a 20 life format? in edh like... an artifact heavy deck doesn't want it - it won't tap for a lot. an enchantress deck probably makes good use of it... or any deck that vomits itself into play and is permanent heavy as well as colored permanent heavy. not sure it does enough to get ahead most places though.
solid card, i just feel like its nowhere near as solid as people think.
it'll probably start out at $20+ and slowly fall as it fails to find homes.

Undoubtedly solid, held back from potential greatness by the ETB tapped clause. Thran Dynamo can be nearly as good or better, depending on the situation.
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)

When they made Nykthos they mentioned they didn't go out to make a staple but a fun top down temple card. Wonder how this will do with Nykthos to learn from.
Also great design to give us a devotion mana rock.

"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
I've never been clear on devotion, does it also count mana symbols on abilities or just the casting cost up top?
Regardless, this is a fun design and I wouldn't mind opening one or three of these.
Each pip at the top right of the card for its casting cost. If its hybrid mana, the pips work horizontally instead of vertically (Example: Burning-Tree Emissary can give 2 Devotion to Klothys, Nylea, and Purphoros)
Hybrid counts twice, Burning-Tree Emissary gives 2 red and 2 green devotion.

Hybrid counts twice, Burning-Tree Emissary gives 2 red and 2 green devotion.
Each hybrid pip is 1 pip for devotion. The benefit of hybrid pips as opposed to normal pips of mana is that they fulfill the devotion of other cards.
700.5. A player’s devotion to [color] is equal to the number of mana symbols of that color among the mana costs of permanents that player controls. A player’s devotion to [color 1] and [color 2] is equal to the number of mana symbols among the mana costs of permanents that player controls that are [color 1], [color 2], or both colors.
The common mistake I noticed with this spoiler season is people think that Devotion counts the number of colors instead of the number of pips.

Nope Hybrid mana give you 1 to each of its colors, thats why last time the Ravnica 2 hybrid creature saw play.
Hybrid mana symbols such as (R/W) count toward both their colors but aren't counted twice. In other words, a hybrid mana symbol can only ever add a maximum of one to your devotion to any color or combination of colors, but it adds one to your devotion to any combination of colors that contains either of its colors.

I think you are misunderstanding either the rules or the discussion. A permanent with a hybrid symbol will only add 1 to the devotion total per appropriate "pip". So a nightvale specter with (U/B)(U/B)(U/B) will add 3 devotion to blue for Thassa, 3 devotion to black for erebos and 3 devotion to U/B for phenax - it does _not_ add 6 towards his creature clause. The reason for the popularity of say nightvale specter in a blue devotion deck is twofold - 1st it allows splashing black to be done in a manner that doesn't ruin your capacity to reach devotion (it is rare that you would be able to play a 3 drop UUU in a U/B deck), and secondly, those hybrid cards had more colored mana symbols than one would expect from the card - it would have been appropriately costed at 2U, 2B or 1UB - but as a hybrid you are essentially cheating on the amount of devotion you get.

A mana rock version of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx (I still think the land can be reprinted despite this)
Actually you know it’s better than the land since it’s easier to untap artifacts than lands for that abuse of mana
...okay, Theros is doing pretty well.
why not legendary enchantment artifact? Prob too broken that way

Excited to tap for 0 mana with that set.
Also great design to give us a devotion mana rock.

Probably mono U can make infinite mana with this (probably).
Filigree Sages for another blue combo
Voltaic Construct for any color
