Klothys enabler. Turns out Theros had titans after all. I wish it made a reference to a Theros Tartarus. I hope they’re not also planning to do gods vs titans. Maybe in a third return. Or
Something but there’s enough going on right now
Calling this Green Mill is a bit overzealous in a color that has no other way to do it. It's like saying that psionic blast is the start of my blue burn list.
The mechanics that this does what it does are neat, but at the end of the day you are pay 2 mana and a card to:
Maybe gain 2 life
Maybe draw a creature 3 turns later
Maybe marginally improve your yard and hurt your opponents
Thematically very cool, not seeing much application for it though.
You think they’d reprint the Titan cycle as mythics here? Eh idk if I want to see the titans on this visit with everything going on. But with sexy boy and the 5 mono color gods, that’s 9 mythics with 6 to go. They could easily do 5 titans as well. Not that I would want that. I’d prefer to get some cool multicolor cards for mythics like another Arixmethes or a legendary hydra and other on theme cards over that. We’ll see
you guys think each color will get a rare and an uncommon saga?
I think this is better than it looks Grim Flayer for example and self mill is decent
So clearly a cycle of titans is probably coming (since this will clearly be based on the escape of the titans from Disney Hercules) hey maybe they will get the creature type that will appear in Ikoria
what a bad card, lol.
doubt I'd run it on limited even.
I can think of a few reasons why a slow grapple with the past may be preferable in limited. With Devotion coming back, players may have things that care about it’s green pip while it stays around and does it’s saga thing. It also might see limited play as way to hate on opponent’s cards with an Escape costs, while also fueling your own cards that have Escape costs. Not to mention the fact Constellation is also returning, so this being an enchantment can be a bonus rather than a drawback.

Hot take: The Titans will be the villains the next time we come to Theros.

If they reprint Primeval Titan... right after a bunch of cards were banned to make green less dominating... I might just implode.
If they did to the titan what they did to leylines in the latest core set, though, making some new ones and some old ones, that would be pretty neat.
I could see them making a new blue and green one. Grave, Inferno and sun Titan are on theme. These titans may need to be legendary though. Not that I mind if they don’t get cards. I’m not especially enthralled with titans beyond a reference like this to fill the trope.
Ehh it would be annoying to leave Theros on a Titan cliffhanger though. I’m kinda over the whole plane-wide apocalypse thing. Quit destroying your worlds. I’m aware the titans are a trope themselves, as long as they remain in Tartarus.
Especially considering there’s no proper story anyway, why bother with a Titan escape plot. Just let Theros be Greek mythology world and visit tropes from myth when we return.

I mean this is a saga about a thing that happened in the past, it's not like they redid the brothers war or ice age in the last dominaria. We've already seen titans in theros anyway: Bearer of the Heavens and Titan of Eternal Fire
Slow card, but milling yourself to get to Escape creatures of your own, while removing the ones of the opponent might not be that terrible for just 2 mana, you could end 2+ cards ahead with some life.
For sure a card you can play in Limited, but hardly anywhere else.
Titans coming up wouldn't be surprising. It's one of the most obvious Greek tropes to cover, especially if they want big bad drama. Kind of wonder if they'll do it now though or later.

Funnily enough, those 2 Theros titans represent two of the few Greek Titans allowed outside of the Underworld: Atlas and the nicer Prometheus, respectively.

yea but the titans were probably aiming at with is the titans zeus sealed away
Given that the art depicts Klothys as the one who did the sealing of the titans in the underworld, and we know that until THB Klothys was herself trapped in the underworld, it seems likely that Klothys became trapped alongside the titans, either as a side affect of sealing the titans away or perhaps the other gods betrayed her and sealed her away while she was it.
this thing is mediocre and should've done something else when you exile the creatures. something interesting. make a token, draw a card, add some mana, anything would've been better than a conditional, minimal, life gain

Possible titans returning to oppose the gods?
EDIT: Mods, when you have the time can you add the Theros Beyond Death three letter to the list? It was not there when I made this thread.
Standard - Some kind of control
Modern - UB Mill (casual)
EDH - Meren's Grave Shenanigans

We had Erbos's Titan in Origins, and the story above is about the titans being sealed in the Underworld.

As in sun titan and primeval titan?
There’s something wrong with you if you think they reprint them in standard
Besides they were never any titans printed in any of the theros sets there’s no reference and sun titan is probably good
So it’s new
