That's huge in limited against potential Escape cards. Well-costed and nice stats. The constant graveyard ping can be huge if brought out early against decks that care about graveyard shenanigans. Crackling Drake couldn't care less lol.

It’s good. Once your opponents grave has been adequately decimated, you can use your own to get advantage. Three drop as well. And in Christmas colors! Yaaaaas
so keeping with tradition, we will see her Oracle planeswalker tomorrow for Christmas Day?
Really good. Imo playable in modern and pioneer. The ping or ramp + graveyard hate is really good. She is kinda bad with Wn6 and grave hate probably kills her and the deck she will be played.
Idk in EDH, imo Xenagos is still better, and Klothis isn't that good of a ramp, it is Darksteel ingot on Steroids. (but being able to snipe mana dorks could be good in a less political eviroment).
For Standard i see her playing well before rotation. The Gruul monsters deck becomes better with her (has more reach for late game). Probably some lists can play 2 main board and 2 sideboard for the graveyard matchs (not that there is much, but it is ok vs GB adventures).
After rotation she could help on a Jund midrange/control shell.
On limited she is the best hate and win con soo far imo.
EDIT: She does not ping, soo probably will be used only for graveyard hate and ramp, don't see her being played much in modern. Initially i thought she was overpowered as f but now imo she is just ok, probably will be played as grave hate.
actually pretty neat. aggro colors, some built in ramp, or in a long game it can kill the table with commander damage. part of me sorta wants to build it

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
Just imagine dropping this against Golgari Adventures:D:D no more Alter Fate loops, other than that, pretty good for Limited and a potential ramp engine that can turn into a beater after using it to ramp into other big dumb beaters, an interesting card for sure.
If feels like something for MidRange Control like Jund. Ramp out T2. Then starting Ping and start building inevitability. Sense you now have 5 Drop potentially T3. Or you keep regular curving out.
In a format like Modern or Pioneer where it can be often Fetch-Shock or Shock in early turns. You are playing at give or take 14-15 Not 20. In that case, this is even only in 3 turns 1/3 of your opponents life.
Additionally it also gives you life. So vs Aggro you wipe on 3-4 then play this on 4-5. You start bring yourself up to a healthy life total.
Is a metaphorical Grave-Matters enchantment deck. With cards like Nighthowler, Brain Maggot, Pharika, Strength from Fallen and Nyx Weaver. One of the big things the deck lack in Jund Colors (had to go Abzan) was Lifegain outside Courser.
The three cards it would compete with are Courser, Pharika and Nyx Weaver. So I think it has a potential as 0-2.
Damn she is HAWT ! Id gladly walk under her ^^
The card can do a lot, but gettin it all will rarely happen. Too bad lovestruck beast & bonecrusher giant add so lil devotion. Clearly her life-drain is her greatest assett.
She’s better than Pharika imo. I figured she’d be good with cards like commune with the gods and life from the loam or dredge strategies.
I’m hardly familiar with formats outside of commander though, and cards like that with Klothys seem good in edh at least
In Pioneer; if Enchantment Grave becomes a viable theme she competes most directly role wise with Pharika.
Pharika primary advantages over her are well she makes Enchantments:
Doomwake
Strength From Fallen
Vs
Kytheos life gain and ramp. Kytheos is a viable early play due to ramp. ESPACIALLY sense means Terramorphic & Evolving no longer means a missed drop. And can turn Cycle duals into value/1CMC cycles.
You’re looking up at her, and she’s leaning back. Her legs are just closer to you than the rest of her towering figure
The fact she also becomes a 4/5 indestructible is amazing. That’s what I love most about devotion and the gods in general. I hope this means the main set gods will be more aggressively costed relative to Athreos. Thassa being 3 cmc again would be most welcome
I always had a feeling straight guys like em thicc
mostly a fixed Deathrite Shaman...
3 mana vs 1 mana, indestructible and a lot bigger if you jump through all the hoops.
Still, DRS is a crazy powerhouse EXACTLY because he costs 1 mana and starts ramping or hating as soon as turn 2.
without fetchlands on meta, is doubtful it would see play on Pioneer.
in standard it's certain it will see some play if there's a top tier graveyard deck, unlikely otherwise.
modern is fairly possible, and I doubt it will be anywhere near legacy.
Where was she when Xenagos was going and changing his fate?
Chained in the underworld.

"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
The statement/blurb about her being strongly against escaping from the Underworld is particularly ironic considering she was chained up there.
I sense she might not see Modern play. She's kinda like the slowest Sulfuric Vortex ever, except she is indestructible, gains life, hates on graveyards, and can produce mana instead. Yeah, she also gives off fixed Deathrite Shaman vibes to me. She might have been playable at 2 mana or post-combat main phase, but I think 3 mana and pre-combat main phase kills her.

Wait, the goddess of destiny wanted to be chained up down there despite not wanting to leave? Whatever floats Klothys's boat I suppose.

The way it was worded in the mechanics article (because we're so starved for story content this early on, everything is source material) was she wasn't chained in the Underworld by her own volition.
RG still feels like a really weird color combination for a god of destiny. The green is fine, but isn't red the color of "F*** destiny, I do what I want"? As a concept, destiny feels much more WG imo.

not sure how tough this guy looks as a commander (how would you really build around it?) but will have fun testing it in the 99.
Edit: Just realized that this is basically a gruul deathrite shaman with a higher cost and indestructible. Nice.
