My all-time favorite depiction of Jeska has to be this fan art by fellow MTGS user merkymerx though:
I wish I could get a Jeska card with that artwork...
It's good to see muscles on a warrior woman. Seriously, why is it so hard for MtG artists to show women's abs, especially if they are wielding huge weapons?
Y'all know they been doing ~50% return planes, new planes since Scars of Mirrodin right?

not just that, but do commander players even care what plane we visit? format doesn't really impact the popularity of a set, or the desire to return to it... the cards do.
yeah those legacy players sure are hyped to return to zendikar! dominaria sold well because it once had lightning bolt printed in that setting! ...see how silly that sounds?
It has been a long time since I have been excited enough to consider diving into buying a large amount of sealed Product. The Masters sets were great, but I often resorted to just picking up singles. I bought a box of MM 2017, and a couple commander decks, and that is really about it in the last 8 years.
I have a hard time buying sealed product because really I only ever look at the new sets to find commander sets and start brewing for other formats. But they are not really products where I am interested in a large portion of the product. 2-6 singles max, is about what I get out of a new product.
Commander products are generally exceptions for me because generally something that is good enough for Commander, is good enough to let sit, unused in a collection.
Really glad to see 5 new decks and the release date moved up to April. I think seeing decks with new sets is also pretty exciting. Keeps the hype up for Commander players in a new way.
I would love to see some fresh art for Worldly Tutor. Crossing my fingers.
Last but not least, I think this is an interesting way to go about introducing powerful commander cards into the format without disrupting Standard or creating a barrier of entry with something like a buy a box promo.

So? Commander players also tend to be Vorthos as well. And yes. Sometimes when our favorite cards are associated with a particular plane we get excited at the prospect of going back. I'll always get excited for Ravnica because I'm always looking forward to a new Niv card. So what does it matter that they've been doing 50% return planes (as long as you count GRN, RNA and WAR as a single entity it's actually slightly less than 50%)? They're going to use popular settings. It'd be like telling Marvel to stop publishing Iron Man.
As well as introducing new cards, I’d like to see them use the commander booster product as a way of increasing reprints for commander without packaging them in 100 card pre-constructed decks. They need to find a way to reprint individual cards rather than whole decks. It’d be nice to see Atraxa, Praetors’ Voice, Kaalia of the Vast, as well as spells like Teferi’s Protection and the confluence cycle in the product.
Y'all know they been doing ~50% return planes, new planes since Scars of Mirrodin right?
I should probably rephrase: When I said old, I meant "overused", losing freshness, visited too frequently within short time span. Theros on second visit still has some freshness. Dominaria had always been a lot more diverse and historically intriguing (no pun intended) and it's set centuries after the war, which made returning to it a new experience.
not just that, but do commander players even care what plane we visit? format doesn't really impact the popularity of a set, or the desire to return to it... the cards do.
Then you have a very skewed view on who we are. I am all for lore expansion and intriguing mechanics, which makes visiting new planes very exciting, especially for continuing MtG timeline.
Every plane deserves at least two visits, some planes like Ravnica deserves 3 thanks to being the focal point of a saga. Zendikar in this case, I can't think of a story that would prompt a revisit so soon, and it flunked badly last time, so it feels tiresome to go there again.

I was mention the fact people are acting surprised/whining that we are returning to Theros and Zendikar when we have been retuning to old worlds for a while as well as well as knowing the timeframe of return when to except them.

Am I the only one who's worried about the 70+ brand new legends? Commander products in the past had 16~20 new legends each year, they're literally putting three plus years worth of ideas into this one, and that's not counting the Commander Legend decks. And if they continue with this trend, well of creativity will run dry quickly.
I think they clarified this was only for the upcoming year and that afterwards it would be dialed back a bit. Fans have been asking for all kinds of Commander goodies for years so there's a good bit built up, this feels like a push to take some pressure off so future releases can be at a lower pace.

do they? data on that?
half the dudes i play with couldn't even tell you what goes on in the story, and don't much care what plane we go to unless its one they already liked because it gave them powerful cards
i think if anything we take what we personally enjoy and ascribe it as a broad generalization to the playerbase
personally, as someone who primarily plays commander over the past 10 years, i don't care what plane we go to at all. there are a few characters i'd like to see get cards some day but beyond that? going back to zendikar is about as neat as going to eldraine, i don't care so long as the cards are good.
For me as a player, personally, I'm not too fussed on us revisiting old planes or visiting new ones. Planes I didn't like can have new spins that I might like, planes I already like I'm always happy to revisit, and new planes offer possibility.
Mainly, I'm more interested in wether the cards are enjoyable to play with. Mechanics or environments that don't play well, or generate unfun play experiences will deter me from that set, but wether I enjoy it's theme and lore decides wether I like that plane or not.
For instance, I greatly disliked the play experiences of the original Innistrad, but greatly enjoyed it's world. On our return, it's play experience was slightly different to my enjoyment, and so for me I dislike the first Innistrad block, rather than the plane itself.
Similiarly, there is many parts of Dominaria's long history that I've not enjoyed playing through, and many more that I have. I have no issue or preference on Dominaria as a plane, but strong opinions on certain blocks and sets that happened within it's lore. Similiarly I strongly dislike the original Mirrodin block, loved the New Phyrexia block, have mixed feelings on Mirrodin/New Phyrexia as a plane.
I'm just happy to have some cool mechanical, fun play experience cards, and have Legendaries feature various characters wanted by the community. Don't need a deck devoted to a plane, just a deck devoted to a good time, rewarding play experience and a feeling of awesomeness bringing old characters some new life.
Me I just want more PW that can be used as a commander also.
That’s practicually locked for commander legends and possibly a playable Kiora in one of the Ikoria decks
Where are people getting the Kiora rumors? I've seen it in forums but no one seems to have a source. I don't remember Gavin Verhey saying it in his announcement video, either.

It’s just speculation. Ikoria is the Kaiju plane and Kiora loves her some huge sea monsters. Not to mention we haven’t seen her in a while outside of her uncommon in WAR. It’s not the most unreasonable speculation you’ll find here but it’s speculation none the less.

The only water creatures that’s her catergory that will be on Ikoria is krakens and leviathans
Edit: oh the 5 ikoria decks is commander 2020 shame no older lore characters will pop up in those atleast the draft set will handle that
Are you telling me a land of giant monsters will not have a single familiar face, like the Leviathan that fought Nicol Bolas, Marit Lage, or evening a Lhurgoyf? I mean...there are many legends that have shown up twice in commander products (yes, excluding anthologies) so I think we still have a good chance of at least a familiar reprint.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Hate to burst your bubble but that “Leviathan” was Ugin.
Also they said these decks would be loosely tied to Ikoria on a high conceptual level. That doesn’t stop them from doing old characters (considering how popular those have been) and it doesn’t mean the entire deck will only feature Ikoria themed cards. And, hell, even if it does there are 70 legends in Legends. It won’t hurt for them to spend a few cards fleshing out Ikoria.

The Leviathan was not Ugin. Ugin "died" on Tarkir.
The corpse of The Demonic Leviathan, which was slain by Bolas, was located on Dominaria (also known as The Talon Gates).

Sorry I'm too lazy to track down the story where Bolas killed him the first time. It happened during the Bolas Origin story during C19.

In the Meditation Realm, the god-emperor perches atop an outcropping of rock amid the ruins of a once handsome temple whose columns and roof were dashed to the ground at the time of the cataclysm. To Bolas, these marks of devastation are marks of victory. His wings, outspread, cast a shadow over the waters. He can't quite recall exactly where Ugin fell, but fall he did, and now the opaque waters have become his grave.
This, the site of his greatest triumph, is a fitting place for him to ruminate over his plans. To give himself a focal point on which to center his meditation, he chooses a spot at the center of a vast span where no islands break the surface. Here, he erects two gigantic curved horns so they emerge from the waters as if a gargantuan dragon lies sleeping beneath, body hidden from sight. When he is done, the sky gleams with a contentment that matches his own.
