Announcing Unsanctioned, the preconstructed silver-bordered experience coming February 29, 2020.
Unsanctioned contains five combinable 30-card, silver-bordered decks for wacky Un- fun.
The set contains sixteen brand-new Un- cards to trip your Un- trigger, plus the reprinting of beloved Un- cards from previous Un- sets. It's unbelievable!
Unsanctioned also comes with new full-art black-bordered basic lands that will do the Un- line proud—with a new Un- style and new art. Regular, gorgeous art.
what we want is silver bordered , non - legal , VINTAGE pre-constructed decks
.
But... but... what about the reserv....
Yeah, I got nothing.
Silver border cards are fairly steadfast in the realm of unset territory. We're more likely to see Blacker Lotus or something g really goofy like White Lotus but non-legal versions of Vintage legal cards? Might as well print gold borders again.

I'd also like silver bordered or gold bordered reserve list cards. It would be great. Or people will just keep buying the fakes online. Underground sea for about $3 is super appealing to a lot of people. Getting that silver bordered Wizards official also for $3 would be nice.
Unsets are fun, I've played a bunch of them. It's fun for a weekend or two.
A little unsure as to these being premade decks. Boosters would have been fine. Then again rarity doesn't make much sense for non-tournament playable cards Makes it easier to get all of the cards.
I don't think whether or not it would have been fine to do a booster product comes into it. Preconstructed decks aren't an alternative for when boosters wouldn't work, there's a number of different reasons to do either because they fulfil different purposes.
MaRo has already stated that Unsanctioned was made a preconstructed product because they wanted to do a preconstructed product and doesn't have anything to do with downgrading it from a booster release or anything. https://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/188278001903/before-i-start-i-wanna-acknowledge-that-i-dont
We were looking for a fun boxed experience. Unstable sold very well. We’d never reprinted any silver bordered cards. It just seemed like a cool product to make. Its existence doesn’t prevent the possibility of another Un-booster product. In fact, it’s success would only help such a product’s chances.
Only 16 new Un-cards? I know making silver-bordered cards is hard work (e.g. the MLP-associated card Rarity not letting you grant protection from practically everything), but dang it, Un-sets are generally associated with a lot more new cards!
Seeing as Un-cards get Oracle text, I wonder if they'll be reprinted with their new Oracle text (e.g. "Creature" instead of "Summon" for Unglued cards).
So, one of each basic full art and full art foil? Should result in somewhat cheaper foil prices. Depending on the price of the collection, it should be at least equivalent to the one land a pack you would get from boosters. Not that it matters since the foil lands will sell the set themselves.
Sounds like the actual decks don’t have full art lands. It’ll be interesting to see what art they use for those. Un-themed basics would be cool, but unlikely.
Anyone who doesn’t care about the full art lands will be able to get all the decks for REALLY cheap on the secondary market!
Wish these Un-cards would just show up as promos or the like - pretty to look at, prestigious to own, but otherwise completely useless.
Oh they have those too. The Hascon Promos, the Holiday Promos, the upcoming Charity Promo, all of which I have and plan to have. I'm super excited for this product and will likely do as milo_bloom said and see if I can own one for intact reasons for play (probably two since they're supposed to be 30-card pair em up decks, and want my opponent to be on even footing) and one to cannibalize and put into my Silver-bordered collection/EDH deck.
Which reminds me, why are you here again? To express your disdain/disinterest for this product? Was it even necessary? Leave this forum to those of us who would dance gleefully naked as silver bordered cards shower down.
Foiled again by the reserve list. I guess we shall all have to purchase our EDH dual lands not from Wizards.

I really wish they’d just print fetch-able duals that say something like “Enters the battlefield tapped if your commander is not on the battlefield or in the command zone”, so they’re almost functionally identical to the original duals in EDH, Brawl, tiny leaders and every other future variant of commander, but pretty poor for all the formats that don’t have commanders.

Why add another expensive staple to all 2+ colors commanders? Just play with tango+shocks+ original duals lol
reprints of beloved un-cards ?
was there ever any un card beloved or is it just a poor excuse for "sorry, we had to cut down developement cost, so we wanna make money with reprints, you will probably just buy it for the lands anyways" ?

Yes. All of them. By me. So much so that I think my mostly foil Un collection is the lion's share of my collection's worth. Not that I'm parting with it anytime soon, mind.

Oh yeah, I'm sure no one liked any of the un-cards. That's why they made three whole sets of them, of course. Because nobody liked them.

Well, it's a simple fact that the Un-sets have been some of the worst-selling sets of all time..
Like a few things in Mtg, they more beloved by MaRo than anyone else. Don't get me wrong--I have played Magic since 2000 and I do appreciate the Un-sets for what they are, a goofy diversion from regular 'serious' Magic to create unorthodox, goofy, or normally-impossible experience for Magic fans.
And yes, the full art lands are definitely the biggest reason the packs always sell. The lands. The foils. The most valuable cards from every Un set? Yep. You guessed it: Foil Lands.
The reason Unstable sold "pretty well" was largely due to the gorgeous full-art lands rather than the other cards themselves. A foil land would cover the cost of a box easily on its own if not close to it.

Preconstructed decks mean that the cards are specifically chosen for that deck and will have some purpose, even if only for that deck.
If the price is cheap enough, I might get two sets - one to keep intact and one to strip for parts.

Its pretty cool to "foil" cards simply via sleeves.
Satisfying enough in lots of cases.
