Scalding Cauldron is preeeety gooood for limited. Like...seriously. So many flat unplayable rares for limited that I can see a common (?!) like this going very early.
I was kinda expecting the Mace equipment to be in the main set, but it is reassonable to be one of the brawl only cards as that equip would be very powerfull in limited.
Queen of Ice looks nice and more of what I was excepting more from adventures. Having been in a production of the Snow Queen this will be a fun thing to show some old friends.

She reminds me of Elsa, too--art--wise, and kind of ability-wise, lol

If anything I see more Tilda Swinton white witch or a young version of Pathfinders Baba Yaga.

Also, gotta say Memory Theft is my jam. I love being able to kill a dude on an adventure. Reminds me of a tabletop game, or something.
ME: "You'll just have to forget about Garruk, Cursed Huntsman. Then it looks like a fatal calamity is going to befall Murderous Rider while he is en route to save his kingdom! Swift End, indeed!"
well having seen the entire set, it sure seems weak.
definitely one of those sets that is fun to draft, then you put the cards to collect dust on a shelf
I seriously only want a few witching wells and an embercleave.
Pretty sad. Where are the powerful enchantments?
Where are the build around cards?
Why all the janky tribal?
Reminds me of Lorwyn, which I loathed.

Typical from most of you guys here
You see powerhouse stuff get hype then rest later you guys go from I love the set to I hate the set
Besides lots of new toys for edh as usual and a there’s a few potentials for modern in this set
Tribal is something they will do in every set. We will never be rid of it. Why?
1) It's Limited "Glue". Dfrat environments are better when you have as many different archetypes for drafters to go after. Inserting tribal synergies in the card pool just gives drafters more flexibiilty. It's a very good thing they do it. It does have the intended effect.
2) It's 'known territory'--they've done it so many times now, it's too risky NOT to do it in every set
3) It's 'safe'. Magic players have always wanted to build tribal decks. It's a natural tendnecy so they don't risk offending many people with it.
Boil them all down...it's easy for them to do it. They've firmly convinced themselves they pull off a set without it. Hasbro tells them not to **** around with a formula that works (and one that consistently delivers the best profit margins of any division within Hasbro.) People like making money and having jobs. The rest takes care of itself..
For better or worse, Tribal will play a significant role in every (drafted) Magic set until the end of time. (Sometimes it is a even central role, rest of the time, it's merely involved.)

Also they give new toys for already done ones
And yes they will do it for every set and Noble will errata lots of older cards so morophon will probably be able to do noble tribal and when we get to Ikoria we will definatly see a tribal legend for whatever can lead the kaiju’s (whatever it’s typings will be)
I honestly don't get all the people yelling "WEAK" at this set. It might not have as many broken cards as War of the Spark, but there is power all over this set. There are common lands that have basic land types, the ability to come in untapped, and additional effects. This set has quite possibly the strongest mana dork we have seen since Deathrite Shaman from way back in Return to Ravnica. They basically have the best removal spell from Theros block, Hero's Downfall, a body. They gave us the most immensely skill testing punisher card I can think of since Desecration Demon. They stapled a wrath and a finisher together. They gave us a reusable wish effect on an above curve body. We have a free instant speed sacrifice outlet, which we haven't really had since Yahenni, Undying Partisan. There is a one drop with drain and recursion. The rare land cycle includes scrying, draw, ramp, team pumping and token making that you don't need spell slots for. The list goes on.

Exactly they are comparing to war of the spark and core 2020 and probably modern horizons

What is that "strongest mana dork" you're talking about? Gilded Goose? Faeburrow Elder? I'm grasping at straws here; I basically haven't seen any discussion about any of the mana dorks in Throne of Eldraine for Modern and beyond, which implies that none of them are powerful enough. (In comparison, I saw debate in Modern threads about Deathrite Shaman the day it was previewed. Admittedly, I don't think any of us predicted that day that it would ever get banned in Modern, let alone Legacy.)
Admittedly, I agree with the general evaluation that Throne of Eldraine is a power step down for larger formats, partially because I'm figuring that its cards most likely to see play in Modern are pretty much sideboard-only cards (Hushbringer, Deafening Silence). The maindeckable cards all seem more fringe (although Emry, Lurker of the Loch is luring removal fast and powerfully in Jeskai Ascendancy Whirza, Castle Locthwain is swinging games in its favour as Expensive Bob On A Land, and Mystic Sanctuary is actually getting tutored for late-game).

The mana dork in question is Gilded Goose. The card has been written off by many players here, but it does have some significant upsides compared to Birds of Paradise. The extra point of toughness makes it better against the likes of Gut Shot and Lava Dart, in addition to letting it block 1-power attackers. Being a mana dork with incidental lifegain also makes it stronger than BoP in the burn matchup, and the fact that it makes an artifact could also matter as well.
Gilded goose is a terrible one shot mana producer.lets be serious here people.even in the 'food' deck, by the time you have lots of food to make it function well then you don't need the mana.
Hope you guys enjoyed throne of eldraine spoiler season
By the way fling is coming so thud not leaving standard yet rejoice
It's been an enlightening one, if nothing else.

It’s secretly a reprint of bloom tender that’s actually slightly better
