While it is neither Overrun nor Rishkar’s expertise, having an odd pseudo-mashup at instant speed is great for EDH (especially as this will likely end up as a 50 cent rare)
a planeswalker running wild hunting other planeswalker no matter which side they are at... missed opportunity that they just randomly return him now.
would have loved a set where we have the typical good vs evil fight, where garruk randomly shows off, beheads the evil dude and moves on without anyone realizing what just happened. you know, let him make some random chaos here and there. but ok... guess we are back to good old boring walkers, not that they used him storywise anyways
And just like that we have another completely wasted plot thread. I swear, Wizards just does not know what to do with their stories anymore. The cursed Garruk/planeswalker hunter plot went absolutely nowhere and accomplished nothing, it feels like they just used this as an opportunity to quickly handwave it away and be done with it, just like they rushed through the Eldrazi. Even Bolas came off somewhat rushed going into the end of it, though it was handled mostly better all the same.
There goes my hopes for his curse ending with Liliana's head on a pike. I guess she will never get her comeuppance.
Just because he isn't cursed anymore doesn't mean he isn't still very pissed at Liliana Vess. All this means is his plan when then finally meet is less a mad charge at her, and more sending every animal in every forest in the plane at her.
It is a shame that Festive Funeral costs 5 mana; on the other hand, by the time you cast it the targeted creature won't be a problem any more. Return of the Wildspeaker would have been ridiculous with Ghalta, but should still generally be "4g: draw 7 or more cards".

It all reads like a bad fanfic anyway. I'm just glad that we hopefully get some new good Garruk cards now.

I mean, she's a strong female character, no way Wizards is gonna do away with her.
I can't wait until the social world balances out enough that any character could die at a given moment no matter what race, sex, etc they are, just as fairly as the rest. If a character is strong and well loved, they will be remembered even after their death.
That’s right for those who haven’t read the book garruk is back to his old self he’s good again
And it’s very decent for heavy creature decks
And nice removal for mill/graveyard strategy
instant speed makes it even better.

It was the Cauldron of eternity that lifted the chain veil curse
He wants to go and find and protect Rowan and will kenrith rather than kill that’s telling me he’s good again
