6 Mana for 10/11 split across 3 bodies, one of which is flying? Seems pretty decent, not sure if it'll see Standard play at 6 Mana but it's got a lot going for it. Downside, obviously, is that if you deal with the 4/5 you're left with 2 1/1s.
This affects your opponent's creatures as well. Not a big fan of that.
Interesting, I really dislike the asymmetrical spells for exactly the same reason. Or... would it be the opposite reason?
Whatever, point is, I generally feel spells like Ethereal Absolution play into newer players mentality of making sure creatures always survive the game. Players need to grow a pair and have no fear about killing their own minions to win the game.
First they have Howl's Moving Castle, now the spirit from Princess Mononoke, what's next...

Whelp... This means no angels in the set. Nice to know for my wallet.
I already asked Maro a few weeks (or more?) ago about the angel break we will take. His answer was something like "Magic can’t stay away from Angels for long". I asked because commander 2019 doesn't had any new ones (I think it is the first Commander Precon Product without any new angels?) and I was sure that Eldraine was going to be angel-free, too. Well I don't know what 'for long' means for him, because Theros is another angel-free world and Ikoria doesn't seems to be a fitting world for them (if the theme is going to be 'Make your own creature/monster'). I am sure that core 2021 will have some but that would be Q3 next year. There is still a supplemental set and the commander product before Q3 next year so hopes are high for some new friends before Core2021.
This elk is a strange one. I think I like it. He pairs well with Beloved Princess revealed earlier.
I've been seeing a ton of Risen Reef+Nissa+Field of the Dead decks on Arena lately. I can see someone trying to jam this card into one of those decks. That's going to make removal like Massacre Girl super important in the upcoming format.in the 2020 event, I've been utilizing her far more than I usually do.

Well actually Massacre Girl won't solve this problem out right (at least not when the Archon is out) as they'd all be out of MG range with out some other way of killing their/your creatures. But I think you're right in terms of keeping the board under control before it's dropped, though with Scapeshift rotating out the deck will be far less consistent.
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
Huh Archons.... it would not surprise me if in the return to Theros we have a Archon tribal theme....
I mean everything is possible but I don't think that it is likely. Archons have the same issues as angels that there are very high costed creature without any tribal synergies. They would need a Dragons of Tarkir like set but for Archons and I don't believe they are popular enough. In addition there are overall about 10 Archons at the moment. Most of them are white with I think some in Selesnya and my beloved Ashen Rider. On the other hand there are some Archons with an Enchantment theme and that would fit with Theros.

This kind of reminds me of Godhead of Awe
EDIT: oh human tokens, now the art makes sense.
oh kk lol was right the first time i looked
Ye prety good card. Could probably be another pay off for w-x token decks.
Why not? That is not an insurmountable problem.
