"Hold your ground! Sons of Ardenvale, of Bant, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship…but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down. But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, men of the west!"
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Interesting that he interacts with the whole field, and not just your own stuff. King's good at diplomacy, it seems.

I've never liked 5 Color commanders, though this one seems pretty straightforward. Made me smile to see his abilities range from 1 to 5 mana in order.
And it's only mildly irritating if you start in the middle and go down, looping around you get WUBRG. Otherwise, you get RGWUB.
If it wereWUBRG his abilities would likely be: W: Target player gains 2 life. 1U: Target player returns a creature they control to their hand. 2B: Target player discards a card. 3R: Deal 3 damage to any target. 4G: Target player returns two cards from their graveyard to their hand.

Yea kind of were they did not do the WUBRG order on a 5-color legend for once

That would be a significantly weaker card for what he wants to be (noble). WUBRG can't always fit thematically on cards. If we relisted these effects in color order, it would look clunky.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
Well, to be fair, it's not like he's super strong to begin with anyway. He's versatile, I'll give you that, but I know I wouldn't play him. I don't have the mind for Commander politics, I prefer to just prove my own strength and try to win with it.

I'll probably upgrade my Zedruu Group Hug deck to him to add G and B. Training Grounds is so great with him too.

Oh god this is what, the fifth "clever" pentacolor legend in the last two years?
It's also the third white one
Impressively boring and generic...

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Is this supposed to be Jesus? Is WOTC saying that the bible is a fairy tale?
If you're gathering this idea from the art, Christian art and art portraying royalty have many parallels with each other. Gold and white coloration, halos around heads, grandeur and wealth, all very similar to each other.
I think that the nearest comparisons we can draw to this card would be Shattergang Brothers and Zacama, Primal Calamity. Zacama is closest to him by far, but it's also a much better card because of its keywords.

Someone on the Internet is wrong.
It's "an hour of wolves", not "woes."
Anyway, I really, really like this card. Such a smorgasbord! And, yeah, this is the Buy-a-Box sweet spot.

Yep it’s the 5-color group hug legend by fair
I can see it as a 5-color creature focused deck too
This is the first buy-a-box I actually want

3U: Who's ur insta-speed sugar daddy?
4B: Screw up someone's combat math at instant speed.
