well thats a ability salad, we usually get at least one each set. It seems like the 3rd ability line is around just to stop fogs as preventing damage is mostly faded out in standard.

protection is back though so the "can't be prevented clause" means that even pro-green creatures die no matter what due to its deathtouch.
Well, that's a lot of text. Still, it seems that this card is missing "Hexproof from nonpurple", "Can't be countered by an opponent of an opposite sex" and "If it would go to the graveyard, shuffle it into your sideboard instead".
...Mayael the Anima which one is it better for in edh
No real synergy here.
Too bad Majestic Myriarch doesn’t share a standard, that’s one heck of a curve.
Honestly, this probably needs to dodge some removal to really payoff. Though, with haste, you’re can probably force through some board locks created by token producing PW’s.

In core 20 we got protection back.
Also, people can use fogs ofensively as combat tricks with this, looks nice in commander.
Dies to so much removal in modern - I know this is a hack complaint, but for such a tank, you'd think it should have a chance to connect. A revolted Push, Path, and Magmatic Sinkhole all take care of this... Wish it has some sort of mana leak ability stapled to it as defense.

True, but it puts a ton of pressure on your opponent. Dealing 4, and killing a PW while being able to break through some token defense is a pretty impressive feat for 4 mana. I do agree though, I feel like it could have lost the anti-“fog” tech and gained some form of protection.
Hey I thought everyone wanted the more obscure Arthurian stuff, everyone will get it right
In the lore for Eldraine the Quest Beast is who sends the cabinets on the quest for the high king and/or queen. Mean tied a bit and haves a cameo in the end of the novel.

"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
It appears they've killed Gideon for a second time. Gideon Blackblade might be indestructible on your own turn, but, with a Questing Beast controlled by an opponent, he'll still lose loyalty when he takes damage.
This seems super pushed, but why do I get the feeling it’s not going to largely impact Standard. Pestilent Spirit was pushed and it never took off in Standard or Modern.

It's all about context. Pestilent Spirit is a decently-sized, squishy, evasive deathtouch creature with an ability that grants deathtouch. Nightshade Peddler is a less efficient creature that is even squishier and also grants deathtouch, but it saw vastly more play than the spirit because it shared standard with Izzet Staticaster.
For Questing Beast here to be in the right context, it needs one or more of the following:
A competitive green stompy/zoo deck
A preponderance of weenie strategies
A defensive pro-green creature to punch through
A competitive superfriends strategy
A dearth of efficient instant removal for 4+ toughness bodies
Alternately, a card that synergizes will with its abilities will also do the trick.
Ugh the ability salad here is a little ugly. Clearly designed around being a pushed midrange creature suited for the meta, but I wish they didn't compromise on a cohesive elegant design just to make it strong and relevant.
The exotic legendary beast flavour does suit an ability salad card, but still, it's a bit much. Feels too tacked on.

Agreed 100%. I expected there to be some interesting sort of "when this dies, your opponent gets food or treasure" text on it, as like a reward for killing the beast. Or y'know just anything other than ability salad, none of which feel particularly flavorful for it.
What's crazy is that I don't even think it will be all that good. Its value depends on how many planeswalkers you plan on facing and whether you can get in with a hit and kill one the turn you cast it. Otherwise, it just seems like a 4-drop that dies to all removal (ahem lava coil) and at best trades with any other 4-drop. But as a Teferi-slayer, it might do the trick!

That is one sexy beast for edh (although the big fail is its not a hydra it has 3 heads)
So Animar, Soul of Elements or Mayael the Anima which one is it better for in edh
I think it’s a monster in the Arthurian story
What’s weirder is it’s not a hydra typing since it has 3 heads

Super aggressive card though, and I like it.

Multiple heads doesn't automatically equal hydras.
