you know now that i think about it, maybe they will still give use grixis, and spoiling the rakdos commander is just to tease us, she is one of the 99...DON'T CRUSH MY DREAMS!
i mean come on, MADNESS, they complete missed the Chance to make a Cthulhu creature.

Considering they've shown the packaging as well that's basically a no go. Also they already more or less have their C'thulhu in the Eldrazi.

I know, i just would have loved to have a cultist deck all worshiping a creature that has to do with madness (LIKE CTHULHU)
Looters would have been perfect for that role (As cultists) as they allow you to spread madness.

First of all grixis couldn’t happen because of 2017
Second they said color balance is a thing for each commander so they had other wise with these (I knew one was naya since that’s the only shard color not done since the announcement of no more color focus decks)
And third the eldrazis most particually emrakul is based off the Cthulhu look at shadows over Innistrad and eldritch moon
Sevinne is an example of how to work well with one mechanic while leaving the door open to others. Flashback, Jump-Start, Retrace, and Aftermath all trigger his copy ability. Now he just needs a WUBR commander that will allow him to team up with Kess, Dissident Mage.
Anje Falkenrath meanwhile is far more linear. Works well for Madness, but not much else. And Olivia, Mobilized for War is tough competition for the 3 cmc slot. Of course Olivia will probably get reprinted in this deck since she was designed to work with Madness in the first place.
I like that Kadena is designed to work with Manifest as well as Morph. Qarsi High Priest becomes a serviceable card draw engine, and Ghastly Conscription can be downright hilarious.
Ghired looks the most fun out of these four to me. I can already picture the Dragon and Beast tokens his decks will run. Like Dragonmaster Outcast, Utvara Hellkite, and Godsire.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Might pick up Anje Falkenrath because Innistrad, but other than that, I'm not that interested. Naya Populate DOES make sense, since RW and GW have both been token based in the past, but I'm not enthused because of a lack of Evergreen. Not even Vigilance? C'mon now.
Jeskai: Stats are awful. Abilities are great but a 2/2 for 5 is not acceptable to me at all.
Sultai: Might be fun to play with, possibly.
Really dislike this kind of commanders, which are made for SUPER specific deck types with SUPER specific cards to work with.
They could have made these way more useful in general and have them be especially great with their theme, instead they pretty much only work in such a deck and are piss poor anywhere else.
Thats not the "cool" kind of commander, this is just too much in your face building around a theme that is much more restrictive than open ended.

I don't really see the Jeskai commander's body as relevant. Since damage is prevented to it damage based removal and combat damage don't kill it. The only thing that cares about it's body is -x/-x based removal but that stuff is supposed to kill anything it targets and it's not super common. Basically you're paying 5 for an enchantment that prevents damage from your opponents' largest creatures and copies your first spell from your yard. Which seems fine.

While true, having Elesh Norn preventing you from having your commander out kinda sucks.

So what, we had Izzet last year and Izzet in 2015, are you saying three years is a long enough gap but two is not? Izzet also got a few fun toys in battlebond. Having not just Will and Rowan but also Okaun and Zndrsplt.
And color balance? How is having three decks with three colors and one deck with two colors balanced? It is also one of the least powerful guilds in EDH (Along with Boros and orzhov (Not that they cannot be powerful, but at basic power level they will be left behind)
Yeah i know the eldrazi have the Cthulhu theme, but its not actually Cthulhu,
He mean color balance over the year. And he is right. Maro already confirmed it. They look for color balance over multiple years. Next year the chances are high for a Abzan and a Temur deck because this are the two 3 colored deck missing. And we don't look for past 2017 decks because they where balanced by year having 5 Decks a year make that possible.
It is not fair that they print 2 Grixis decks and none Abzan. You can still get you Grixis legend from another set/product like Will/Rowan were in battlebond. And well I am glad that they print at least one 2 colored deck because this give the color combination some support and fresh air.

Sultai: Might be fun to play with, possibly.
Naya: You can give it vigilance if you want to. It's not hard.
Jeskai: Size matters less since all damage is prevented. Don't forget Riku of Two Reflections is also a 2/2 for five.

I agree, but since last year they've been making the FACE commander very specific, while letting the sidekicks be creative, so we probably will see funner ones laster.
That said, Sevinne is a graveyard spellslinger not limited to flashback, and Anje isn't limited to just madness cards either. Ghired, depends on how you build it, could be more combat oriented or more token oriented. Kadena is definitely the most limited of the four, but she has color advantage and I might pull some of her blue/green stuff out for my other morph decks.
Huh. Not what I was expecting. Better than his first card, to be sure, but I was hoping for something a little more aggro and less "one-shot Brion Stoutarm ammo". Something like granting double strike to attacking creatures, or an extra combat phase.

I mean, the obvious point of comparison is Lena, Selfless Champion. When we look at that comparison...
Gerrard
-Is cheaper
-Has an additional color
-Protects Artifacts and big creatures
-Protects against -X/-X effects
-Synergizes with Oblivion Stone and ETB effects
Lena
-Has a more relevant secondary ability
-Can protect creature tokens
-Can protect against kill spells that aren't aimed at Lena if needed.
-Can be returned from the dead via cards like Emeria Shepherd and Karmic Guide if needed.
I personally think that Gerrard is a bit better on the whole. Slamming down Catastrophe, Devastation, Obliterate, or Jokulhaups with this guy on the field is a legitimate strategy to lock everyone else out of a game. Unless you are trying for that specific strategy, however, this guy feels pretty tepid.
Ghired: Hah! Okay, that "populate as attacker" thing actually got me good, that's some super clever design right there. I'm not usually the fan of the "big stompy" Commanders, but I'll be honest, Ghired seeems spicy. Honestly, the only thing I don't like about it is how it already enters with one of the best body sizes for Populating you could get. Yeah, you could play stuff like Advent of the Wurm, but is it really worth it just for that 1 extra P/T? Making any Token below a 5/5 Flying Dragon feels like a waste when you could just get more Rhinos.
Well of all the only i don't like is the madness one and maybe the morph one. The morph sultai commander is prety narrow and uncreative (it is good but i would not play it most likely)(also is nice to see more legendary nagas, now waiting on a naga planeswalker); The Madness could be really good if a 2/3 or 3/2, soo people could try to play it as of a agro deck, but he looks like only allowing 2 choices: Pure Madness enabler or Value midrange/control.
I liked how the populate commander wants to be part of the combat instead of left behind as most token commanders do. The Graveyard/flashback spells is diferent, he can be a good voltron commander or be a pure spellslinger or control, nice.
Waiting for the unchanted realms for those commanders.
