yikes. good reprint and all, but I am really starting to wonder what the upcoming graveyard thing is that scares them SO badly. if something is coming that makes them give Standard all of the grave hate tools that really matter in Modern, maybe they should just not print it

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
There's most likely some good graveyard stuff coming up for them to want to print this, but I think it's mainly a way to satisfy reprint demands from modern and eternal formats, in the same way Scapeshift and Crucible of Worlds were reprinted last time, yet haven't seen much play in standard since (correct me if I'm wrong).
Congrats Mystic Forge, your very own set has a hoser for you.
In older formats, Golos, Tireless Pilgrim is laughing all the way to the bank because it not only dodges this thing entirely in otherwise non-5-coloured decks by tutoring for Cascading Cataracts, it also can opt to blow it up by tutoring for Blast Zone.
I must say that since the return of the core sets they have been spot on. Haven't been this interested in a core set since magic origins.
Good mix of interesting new cards and good reprints for eternal formats. Hope they keep this up

I don't disagree with your comments but I think it is funny to say that you haven't been this interested in a core set since Origins... Core 2019 being the only set since Origins.
Leyline + Cage could be reprinted now maybe because there is a lack of graveyard decks in the next year. Think of Crucible of Worlds and Scapeshift. They were not played in Standard at all. Leyline and Cage are very strong cards and I am guessing that if they had a graveyard theme they would not want to squash it with such powerful hate.

It also helps to sell packs of Core Sets.
I was thinking this too. No graveyard strategy with Standard's power level will survive this much hate, so they're doing this for reprints and reprints alone.
It was nice knowing you, Risk Factor. Of course you can always just Deface the Cage.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Players can't cast spells from graveyards or libraries.

For the life of me I can't think why standard needs this card right now.
ETA oh wait Experimental Frenzy and Bolas’ Citadel get burned with this too
RUNIN: Norse mythology set (awaiting further playtesting)
FATE of ALARA: Multicolour factions (currently on hiatus)
Contibutor to the Pyrulea community set
I'm here to tell you that all your set mechanics are bad

But interesting, leyline and this, looks almost as if wizards knew graveyard decks would be huge and the good hate cards would be desired...
