MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
This seems much better than four mana red variant with the terrible draw back and I’ve seen that card do some dirty things. This will likely be impactful in multiple places.

Yup, this will get banned in some format at some point.
Out of all the infinite universes, even the ones where Scorching Spear is banned in all formats, Mystic Forge doesn't make the watch list.
Sorry for being so straight to the point, but I don't understand how there is almost always one person who makes a "ban" statement, when clearly there is already precedence for such cards.
Infinity can already play Experimental Frenzy and if you have to play a colorless deck, you are already limited to what you can do.
The cards cool, will definitively be good in my Kozilek, the Great Distortion commander deck, but banned in a format, no.
Having access to artifact cost reductions such as helm of awakening[ to reduce the overall cost of the deck, plus all the moxens, it should be fairly easy to push through the deck really quickly.
With that said, it seems like it's powerful, but I don't think it's THAT great. Not being able to play non-colorless spells is a bit of a drawback. Granted, we have the void keyword, which lets you play cards that are technically colored. So keep that in mind, you're not entirely locked out of playing colored spells.
Wizards this will get banned in some formats easily my kozilek deck will break with this
And don’t tell me the new plane is another artifact focused plane with this and steel overseer as hint to that
One can only hope! Standard has a lot of cool enabler cards for colourless/artifact strategies, but lacks the payoff cards like Walking Ballista or the Gearhulks from Kaladesh. Damn I miss Kaladesh
How and why is Mystic Forge preordering for $20 foil pretty much everywhere? It's a core set and it's a sub $3 card everywhere. The foil multiplier is insane, it's like it's a premium/limited set rare/mythic...
I would argue that Golos, Tireless Pilgrim is more playable in that it can easily slot into any 5 color deck, but Forge needs either a colorless deck or a deck (commander anyway) of probably 30+ artifact/colorless cards. Star City Games has foil Golos for $10... and he's a viable commander option himself.
Is there something I'm not seeing? Sub $3 rare at prerelease, near zero potential to do anything worthwhile in standard, likely too slow for modern and beyond...
Hell, The new mythic swords from Modern Horizons only have a 300% foil multiplier by comparison... This has almost a 800-900% multiplier...

legacy eldrazi, and legacy players tend to foil out everything

I actually like this card in eldrazi decks. It plays well with devoid and you generally got at least some ramp in those decks to help speed them up.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
It looks like it would be good in Commander, but the lack of a "Should we ban this before it comes out?" thread at MtGCommander's forums leads me to wonder.

Why would this ever get banned?
You need a million hoops to jump through to break it and its 4 cmc.
Give irony and sarcasm, when ignorance and stupidity is found.
The whip is kept for special occasions
Because it’s not hard to build a deck that this card lets you just burn through.
That said, I’m still not convinced this is any more ban-worthy than Paradox Engine.
Reprint Stasis!
Control needs more love.
