I've been in the process of amplifying the legendary-matters theme in my Saskia the Unyielding deck. Mechanically, Kethis fits in perfectly! & the flavor isn't too bad.
I love having another crunchy reason to play Urborg, Hammerheim, & company!
I think the to do this is:
1. Legendary cards
2. Self Mill
3. Exile the two you don't need to cast all the other legendary cards in a big game winning turn.
There was a big ruckus when he was revealed about how his ability should work as written, versus what was intended.
Basically people interpreted it as written as once you copy his abilities (via Quicksilver Elemental, for example), the "once per turn" clause goes away and you can do infinite combos super easy. However as was clarified here, I believe: https://twitter.com/EliShffrn/status/897894399329222656, the once per turn clause is tacked onto each ability of the caged cards. So copying Mairsil's abilities will also copy the "once per turn" clause.
Well kind of a let down but nice to see the guy in the murder flavor text.
On another note: anyone even sees the mana source? Really can’t see the appeal, honestly prefer to see Jim Davis, Rogue Deck Builder, Tolarian Academy, and Loading Ready Run (they keep up alot of free propaganda with frequency and have good quality)(and yet that guy keeps getting spoilers even if he shows no interest in spoiling them, those other guys get excited upon spoiling limited shaft, comeon give Jim Davis to spoil gem palm, ring leader, etc...)(at least they gave Saffron Olive-MTG goldfish to spoil a great and build around card this time) (this to say the channels not afiliated with channel fireball and proplayers)(forgot the Aether Hub and some of the people from TCGplayer channel)
He only still gets spoiler cards because WotC still coddles the self victimhood he perpetuates, despite him showing just how false it actually is. Wedge is a lying snake. It’s sad that WotC approves of said behavior, but its no surprise since the been supporting that kind of behavior on the tournament scene for years.

Biggest problems with it....
Being forced into eating the very things your trying to cast.
Still having to pay near full price for the stuff your trying to recur.
I think i'm not liking this one as much as i should because i excepted a token commander... really what is "go wide" about this one? he is a weird mix between sisay and karador

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
So Mardu's legendary does not care about Mardu Aggro, and Abzan's legendary does not care for Abzan Tokens. Guess WB and it's ancilliaries are still being punished for the LoD winning those popularity contests they had to end up fixing.

WHAT
this is way better and much more interesting than the RUG and WBR legends. It's like night and day, WGB is a clear "winner" here.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

I don't see anything broken about him atm. Old sisay is better for combo and new sisay better for good stuff, tribal and walker decks. Obviously seems really good in sisay but by hisself all I can see is self mill graveyard shenans which I guess isn't that bad but seems so meh for how powerful he feels. Maybe it will be different when we play him. :/
Soo from what I understand legendaries that enters the graveyard later(after his seccond ability has resolved) does not get the ability to be played from the graveyard. Is that true?
If soo don’t think the hype for this card will hold up, it can be fun, a commander focused os combo that needs to be set up heavily, not gonna lie, if soo I will probably build a deck for hin

Yeah they wanted to stop infinite's like 4x Mox Amber and 4x Mox Opal for Modern, otherwise it would be a fairly broken deck. The legendary rule would send the other to the graveyard and you could just keep recasting them for infinite mana.

In order for his ability to have the most oomph, you need a lot of legendaries. Honestly people are really sitting in Magical Christmas land with this guy... the only way his ability can be used with even remote frequency is if you mill yourself. But then we are in a catch 22. In order for his ability to have the most oomph, you need a lot of legendaries. But in order to use his reanimating ability with any frequency, you need to fill up the yard, but thosevery same self mill cards are rarely legendary... meaning you need to stock up on more non-legendary spells.

Not really? At the start of a game he's useful because he cheapens your overall deck. Five drops on four and so on. If you get into a late game with him then you have resources to burn out of your yard.
Also not a catch-22 because you can just run Dredge with him and be gross that way.
I don't know what to do in standard with it, and in Modern it's probably super janky, but wow it offers some spicy deck design space.
The thing is... I have seen decks that want cards in the yard and NOT try to be mill or basic reanimator and it doesn’t go well... and intentionally running cards that you just want to exile is dumb... and you are jumping through all these hoops for... rather minor benefits... I just don’t see this being very good in practice
