I am starting to guess they put a lot of implied tribal Commander cards into this set. Maybe some 2017 leftovers?
I was thinking this is another card that missed the cut or made the jump from the Modern Horizons design pool. With their changelings (/slivers/bears/ninjas) this would have been right at home in that limited environment.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

This is remarkable! Perfect fit for my Angel tribal deck I am building right now! I can't believe I am this thrilled with a Core Set! WOW is this set amazing. I can't afford to get a Herald's Horn at the moment, so this will slot in perfectly in its place! I eventually would like to play both for Angels, but this makes me all the more patient
