That Nightpack Ambusher.... looks like it came from a commander precon themed around innistrad's werewolves

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Wolfkin Bond is by no means a good card but I'm always happy to see it. It probably has something to do with the card art basically being a guy snuggling a dog.
Wow, Nightpack Ambusher is REALLY good. Not only is 4/4 Flash for 4 is already good on its own, but it supports two different decks at the same time - it builds its own army of 3/3s if you're on Simic/Bant Flash OR is a surprise Lord for messing up combat math (and potential Fight shenanigans with Tolsimir) if you're on Wolf tribal. Great design and overall great card.
Wolfkin Bond is a solid reprint. Not Constructed worthy, even in janky Wolf Tribal, but still a powerful Common for Green in Limited. Compare it with Knightly Valor, which was also a solid Uncommon in M19.
that art on the aura is a right-away contender for the worst of the last... 26 years.
Um what. No, it isn't. It's pretty mediocre, but the fact alone that the artist was capable of drawing the moonlight outline of the wolf's fur makes better than some of the truly awful art from MTG's past.
This is like Christmas in June for me!!! LOVE The ambusher. It’s everything the true legendary wolf/werewolf should’ve been. Great cars and my EDH deck is jumping out of the box with excitement.

She's fairly accurate in this bland style of realism, but i prefer badly drawn pieces (and badly is pretty subjective) with style or at least better composition than this vanilla dutch-angled monstrosity.
both are way more interesting and creative; scavenger may be ugly but it gets my attention right away with its weirdness and palette; and while WoC is low hanging fruit, at the very least it is menacing and unique, just lazily executed
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

I'm sorry for the off topic, but do you have a good word for even stuff like the horribly cartoonish Giant Strength from Legends or Dragon Mask? Seriously, when I was 8 I draw better honestly.

Speaking of Giant Strength, most of the things illustrated by Justin Hampton are pretty ugly.

Hyperbole aside, I have to agree. I didn't really notice it at first, but the more I look at Wolfkin Bond the less I like it. That pose just seems... awkward? Stilted? I don't know. It just looks really off to me. I think the background, the trees, the buildings, the wind... I think all the negative space looks great. It's just something about the subject that feels... hokey? Magic has some really phenomenal artwork, and this definitely feels like one of its weaker pieces.

I was hoping with the new Tolsimir we would get more wolf support. Did not expect it this early so this is a nice surprise. Dare I hope that Commander 2019 has even more support?
Now I'm just torn on if I want to put my Gruul werewolf tribal EDH deck back together for this lord or just slot him into my Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves EDH deck instead. Decisions, decisions.

Excuse me sir, have you seen Scavenger Folk? Or perhaps Word of Command?

In any Flash-Deck a must & army in a can, regardless of wolf-tribal.
worse than its previous printing with the same artwork??
Not even close to Return to Ravnica's edition of Syncopate. I'm so disgusted with it that I am mad at myself for even bringing it up.
