I'm a little wary about this because he's so tribal focused on a tribe that isn't really as focused or as well supported as a lot of the more popular ones like Elves or Goblins. Like Dusk707, I also wish that he supported his own abilities somehow. Mayhe he could have been a 2/2 and created a little 1/1 elemental before his damage ability triggered or maybe his etb ability could have read "target elemental deals damage equal to its power to any target" instead. That way his first ability would have more synergy with his second one while also not needing 3+ elementals on board already to be impactful.
That being said, I kinds like him. I enjoy his color combo and that alone combined with the draw landfall trigger makes me think he could at least be okay as a temur landfall commander.
Dude you'd be surprised by how many elementals there are. It's the first thing I learned building the tribe for commander. Currently I think they are the 6/7th most frequently occurring creature type out there. Certainly more than with either elves or goblins. They might not be as focused as other, more typical, tribes but I think being all over the place is their charm. If nothing else they kinda act like a swiss army knife of options in games with each one providing a tool. Granted this Omnath doesn't really provide anything new it still has some neat synergy with the tribe.
Funny thing a lot of people tend to forget... there are ALOT of red cards that poop out 1/1 elemental cards...

Elemntal takes 7th place in number of creatures. But 4th in race only losing to Zombies, Spirits and Humans; humans are the only race that has 4 digits of representation. Elf and Goblin take 11th and 12th overall. Looking into this I was not surprised by the number of Elementals or the lack of Elfs, but shocked by the number of spirits; they are not a tribe I expected to see in such numbers. Though in hindsight they have had two different tribal blocks for them(Kamigawa and Innistrad).
This Omnath feels scatterbrained to me, like the couldn't decide between the Elemental Theme and lands theme. (Omnath 2.0 has mostly a elemental more than land). Still a pretty good card though.
At last, the GUR Omnath. So, if we get a four-color Omnath, I wonder which color will be added next: white, or black? Or will they just jump straight to WUBRG?
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
That's not true. The roil is caused by Zendikar's crazy mana, not the eldrazi. There were no major civilizations on zendikar prior to the arrival of the eldrazi because the roil would just destroy any cities. It's why we see cards that are named "of the roil" because they harness the power of the roil, not the eldrazi

I thought there were just a few cities... there was a huge Vampire one and then like a adventurer's city, and then the Sea Gate?

(U/B)(U/B)(U/B) JUMP IN THE LINE, ROCK YOUR BODY IN TIME
(R/W)(R/W)(R/W) RISING FROM THE NEON GLOOM, SHINING LIKE A CRAZY MOON
(U/R)(R/G)(G/U) STEALIN' WHEN I SHOULD HAVE BEEN BUYIN'
While it is possible, my understanding is that we get 5 mythic wedge legends and 1 Naya Buy a Box promo and that's it for the friendly colour trios.
