Note that the draw's not optional, so it might be a good idea to have a way of getting rid of it, lest an errant boardwipe deck you out.

This is what Midnight Reaper wishes it could do when it lies awake in bed at night.

Put the two together and you have 2 cards and net zero life (provided no tokens are involved because then that just makes Mr. Reaper unhappy).

but this is a fun option in a deck with a lot of tokens/weenies.

Ritual is one cheaper and triggers for anyone’s creatures.
Also, talking about EDH here, where Ritual tends to draw one card per turn.
