When Cavalier of Dawn enters the battlefield, destroy up to one target nonland permanent. Its controller creates a colorless 3/3 Golem artifact creature token.
When Cavalier of Dawn dies, return target artifact or enchantment from your graveyard to your hand.
So the cavaliers are a cycle? I like the way they present value @ 5cmc.
I really like the red one, this one is pretty good removal on a decent body, with added benefit of getting back a card when it dies.
I'm still waiting for white knight and black knight to finish their "cycles". Doesn't Wizards know that players never want pairs?
I think pairs are neat. They're a good way to show contrast between certain color pairs, especially enemies. White Knight and Black Knight are by far the most famous example, leaving behind a legacy of many, many successors:
There's also the odd example of a cycle of four that started in Alpha with Northern Paladin. Weatherlight later introduced Southern Paladin. Urza's Saga introduced black counterparts in the form of Eastern Paladin and Western Paladin. They were all brought together in Seventh Edition with unique art:
The set even included a couple cards themed around these specific versions of the Paladins:
Eight Edition would include the Eastern and Western Paladins with their old Phyrexian art while the Northern and Southern Paladins were cut, most likely because they didn't fit the color pie as well.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Me too. I was just trying to create some cognitive dissonance for the people who feel the need to "complete" patterns.
Diversity in patterns keeps the game from being too formulaic, but it seems like some people would rather have a formula since that means they can feel smart for predicting things. I prefer feeling dumb because I can't. I'd rather the world continue to enrich my life experiences with unforeseen trials and triumphs than pat myself on the back for being one step ahead of the what the world has in store for me.

Well, that was deep. But I think there are some cards that need cycles and others that need pairs, and then all the singles in between.
You can also have matched pairs, like the old Law and Grace duos white had back when. White absolutely loved matched pairs; it probably has more than every other color put together. Those tend not to be done nearly as often anymore though, on account of card space being tighter and the fact many matched pairs could be done as a single card.

now testing the card in my UW. This is the best among the cycle imo. I was skeptical at first, but it does a good job blowing up annoying planeswalkers like Teferi and Karn Great Creator. Being a creature, the cavalier is not countered by Spell Pierce and FoN. Could blow up a large creature of an opponent.. a 7/7 death shadow reduced to a 3/3 golem. And lastly, since the ability is "up to" we can choose 0 if nothing needs to be destroyed.

Curious te see the other 3.
Modern: WUBRG Humans - GBW Traverse - GWU Knightfall - GRW Bushwhacker Zoo -
Silver Knight, Blood knight, Galina's Knight and Llanowar Knight are a thing, so... It is not just a pair.
Also it looks like they're all being formed from the in set Leylines. Which is awesome if true.
I could see this as a control finisher in Standard.
Looking through some of the options for enchantments, maybe Search for Azcanta, Legion's Landing, Ixalan's Binding, Curious Obsession, History of Benalia (which has the handy benefit of putting itself in the graveyard and Knight synergy), the other sagas, Seal Away, Prison Realm, Dreadhorde Invasion, Oath of Kaya, Smothering Tithe, Conclave Tribunal, Dead Weight, Ajani's Welcome the upcoming Leylines, Rule of Law and Season of Growth?
For artifacts, could be Fountain of Renewal, Treasure Map, The Immortal Sun, Helm of the Host, Mox Amber, Chromatic Lantern, Gate Colossus, God-Pharaoh's Statue, Bolas's Citadel, Viven's Arkbow?
Also, the value of being able hit something of your own that's cheap and/or with a good death trigger and get a 3/3 is not at all unimportant.
