Dont jump too hard on that its great edh bandwagon. It isnt.
Its too slow with minima payoff
Itll be cut from a lot of decks pretty quick when it just sits there doing nothing for 9 turns and then poops out a single zombie.
Even scapeshifting into it living the dream isnt so great given all the other things you could be doing off of scapeshift.
Oh, and im not sure the artist is aware of what a field is.
Its like WoTC keeps listening to the people who keep trying to justify BAD cards as something that could be played in Commander.
You guys keep giving excuses for BAD cards and they will keep printing BAD cards

Been a member here for over a dozen years. Playing since '95 just got lost in the twitch shuffle.
It does trigger off multiples which is nice and it's good with Splendid Reclamation and the like so if you can get a 9 land Scapeshift you can make like 30 zombies, but for all that is holy...
why is this a rare?
Seriously. This card is the pinnacle of what an uncommon should be for the simple fact that it is absolutely worthless in draft. How often does anyone have 7 different lands in their deck at all. It's ridiculous.
mono-green Lands deck or splash another color could be a nice semi-budget legacy deck now (Manabond and Root Maze [Root Maze is good witht he budget Wastelands like Ghost Quarter and Field of Ruin] instead of Mox Diamonds and Exploration and no dual lands, with this as the budget win con instead of Dark Depths since going wide is an option since no Tabernacle of Pendrell Vale and this helps witht he go wide strategies like Tabernacle does [obviously worse but much more budget friendly] to trim price significantly). Sea Gate Wreckage would also be very nice in a mono-green Manabonds budget list.
This is a commander card all the way and I have the perfect home for it:
