How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Chandra's Embercat is cute but it feels like a refugee from a planeswalker deck. Then again, it's easier than usual to have a Chandra planeswalker out, so it might end up being more than just a red bear.

Lapsed DCI Rules Advisor - Retired from playing but still hanging around
More lands in grave theme, nice. Not gonna lie this cards looks constructed worth.
The regulator is almost a hit, if they only had made it be any red walker it would be good. This set has soo many cards that looks parasitic but instead of spirits or arcana cards it is chandra planeswalker cards... (but at least the cards are playable without the walker cards, but idk feels strange when maro is soo pondering about this stuff)
I like to complain, but man... they really are projecting themselfs into chandra and jace aren't they? Comeon a fire house cat? I know it is common stuff into the lore (Kamahl boldness was caused by a similar thing) but did it deserved a card lol ? In one side makes things look silly and the character looses all its duality
I really like Angels normally but this one is kind of strange?
She fits in some of the Naya decks I saw with Mayael as commander or lead the deck as commander I guess. The +1/+0 is a little odd for a card that is green and white. Is this the red influence? The revive effect is more greenish than white but could fit for both colors. I like the art except for the face. Her face looks strange.
Well is the first Naya Angel creature. So some Angel tribal potential. Play Sigarda, Gisela and the other Boros Angels. Or play her in Morophon and pay 2 Mana for a 5/4 Flying Body with upside.
Is this Angel a part of a cycle? Because Naya has Gisath and Zacama (not to mention creature Samut) on top of Palladia-Mors, yet Chromium is the only Esper card to ever hit a standard legal set since Alara. And while I'm on this, Bolas has a Grixis color identity, Tamiyo Bant, Huatli and Samut Naya (Ajani too- though I doubt he'll ever be red again), Sarkhan was Jund (until he was Temur), but there has never been a main storyline planeswalker with an Esper color identity.
EDIT: Buy a box? Really? Well it least it might find a home in a Hero if Precinct One deck.
I hope this is the last of the Chandra stuff (although I know it wont be)
So in our face with this...…..comic....Netflix....Core2020....
Elementals set.
I can be just a little much

Ya know, maybe its just me, but I'm getting the distinct impression this whole thing for Chandra is meant to be a soft reboot of her character. Like so far with just Chandra, Novice Pyromancer, Chandra, Acolyte of Flame, Chandra, Awakened Inferno, Chandra's Spitfire (reprint), Cavalier of Flame, Chandra's Regulator, Chandra's Embercat. Its all just added so much more to her character than over a decade of material has beforehand. Like sure, she has had elemental creatures made of fire/lava/magma beforehand that isn't a new thing but the fact that her own planeswalker cards specifically interact with the elemental creatures in a benefical way is something very unique that we honestly haven't seen before with her.
I'm guessing someone higher up told them they needed to give her some more personality with her magic so she doesn't just come across as generic fire mage when trying to market her.
Draft my cube! (630 cards)

Edit: Ok, I just may have to get the buy-a-box promo this time. That card was created for commander.

Chandra's Regulator is listed twice.EDIT: Nevermind it's got alternate artwork. Derp.Is it just me or should they use the promo frame on a regular basis? The rich colour just trumps everything else.

Standard - Some kind of control
Modern - UB Mill (casual)
EDH - Meren's Grave Shenanigans
Probably for Limited, yes.
That Negate is probably the best version of Negate yet. The art is beautiful and the flavor text is hilarious.

good promos looks like control will be good.
