Now that we’ve seen all the ninjas (maybe), what is this new plane like?Definitely Euro-inspired.
Looking at the Art it looks like a plane that takes inspiration both from the far east and early colonization era western Europe. There are definitely influences of both in the building styles and the decor. I am thinking late 15th century/early 16th century. It definitely has a clear mercantile vibe, and in such an era, where international trade routes were blossoming, Ninjas fit right in.
Holy crap, I know where.
An ASSASSIN’S CREED plane!!!
That sounds about right
Heck maybe this is the mystery plane maro was talking about the one after core 2020

This is a reprint of Phantom Warrior. Both Ninja and Warrior are ok Tribes but Ninja is way better in blue than Warrior is. So I would go so far as to say the ninja is the better version of the card.

So... Fiora?
Not as much politics maybe, these new ninjas look like hunters for something outside of power game, perhaps right after Dark Age where people were still looking for a guiding light, some thrive in shadow instead.
Time to dig out my Betrayers ninjas then. Some of these are just...wow. Particularly the Moonblade Shinobi. So many cards to collect just for the art alone. *sigh*
Ninjas being one of the limited cornerstones is kinda boggling, but I dig it because of the result.
I'm hoping for 1-2 more proper Ninjas, but I think the enabler suite is already there in Scrying Man Faerie, Tormented Changling, etc. Although those are commons that WU Blink andd WB Changling want in draft, so they won't always be available.
The Artwork of Ninja of the New Moon is way to cool to be such a bad card. What a waste...feels bad man.
But a Ninja invasion in a medieval barbarian continent with lots of snow would definitely make a sweet theme.
Hitting someone in the face for 6 when they aren't expecting does not a bad card make, far from it. And later you can use it to discourage attackers or force a block.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).

It's definitely good in limited, but it is depressingly bad in constructed formats (even kitchen table), which is a bummer because its art and name are so cool.
I definitely enjoyed the ninja theme in this set though.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

I think in Pauper it should be fine, it still dies to bolt but if they're shields down on mana getting in with 6 and bouncing back a useful ETB for 4 is still a solid play. I'm a bit torn as while it would be better as a 6/4 that'd also probably be a bit much? Given that this is already going to definitely be a thing that just puts an end to many limited games.
Well I hope there are more with Ninjutsu, at least in black since the Shinobi is the only one I like. The Black vanilla one is just super dumb, the lifelinker and phantom warrior are eh, but not having ninjutsu just feels super bad, like they could've been just some random rogues, they don't feel ninja at all.

I agree on the lifelinker, insofar as I think the effect would still work if the Vampire was ninjutsu-d in. The Phantom Ninja kinda makes sense for me, as a Ninja enabling more Ninjas just adds more tribal synergy. I just wished it played to ninjas as infiltrators, and not do another assassin.
Well, with the final reveals of Azra Smokeshaper and Smoke Shroud I think this was honestly a win for the ninja players. And tangential to them Cunning Evasion just makes some choices easier for you and complicated for your opponent (at least in limited if you build the Ninja deck).
Edit: Didn't see the cards aren't updated onto the site yet. Azra Smokeshaper is a 3/3 for 3B and Ninjutsus for 1B, when it ETBs something gets indestructible for the turn. Smoke Shroud is an Aura at 1U that gives target creature +1/+1 and Flying. It also will just... return to the field attached to ninjas when they ETB. Cunning Evasion is a 1U Enchantment that let's you return blocked creatures you control to their owner's hand for free. Which is just gross with ETBs anyway.

I was thinking the same thing too. It's a really good combat bluff too.

I love this card.
A nice, beefy Ninja. Will be fun to see this in pauper decks.
I love the idea of a clan of vampire ninjas...

Still, might still be useful. Have one of it as a sideboard in the ninja deck I'm building.
