Marit Lage has been in the game since Ice Age, and was intended to be a Lovecraft-inspired Cthulhu-type being. The Eldrazi came much later in MtG's development, and were also Lovecraft-Inspired Elder God type beings. Mart Lage is not an Eldrazi, she just bears similarities due to the common thread of influence. Canon-wise, they do have many similarities, and it's possible that down the road she will be retconned as an Eldrazi. An important distinction between the two is that Lage is female, while the Eldrazi have no gender.

Indeed.
Marit is also specifically Black, instead of Colorless. So they would need to explain that in some way.
So... Tatyova is going to like this. Play a basic, Scry 1, draw 1. Seems good
Wow, that is such a cool little combo. I pulled a foil Tatyova a while back that has often tempted me towards making a Tatyova Commander Deck. This little combo makes me want to do it even more!

Eldrazi titans do. Emrakul is 100% female, I am not sure about English, but it was confirmed at other languages.
Also, Marit Lage can planeswalk without being a planeswalker just like Eldrazi titans do.

The gods the eldrazi inspired are gendered and that was later used as pronouns for the titans but even them the eldrazi are genderless. Karn as much male as Emrakul is female.

After seeing this I am going to predict several things that have been mentioned.
We are going to Kaldheim (spelling?) in the Fall.
We will see regular Snow Lands in that set this fall.
We will have Snow Token generation cards in that set.
Skred will get a reprint there.
Garruk will be back in Kaldheim. He will have snow mana in his casting cost.
Garruk will have a + or - target creature loses indestructilbe until end of turn. So he may "kill" Marit Lage.
Time will tell I suppose even though this card won't be playable in Standard.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Maro explicitly stated that for this set they used as main themes (not single card-keyword) mechanics that standard didn't need for years to come, so I don't expect Snow, Sliver, Ninja in standard for a bit. Nothing stops going to Kaldheim without the Snow mechanic

Nothing stops it except being called a flavor fail when a plane named Kaldheim, literally "Cold Home" or "Cold World", is lacking in snow-matters cards.

Marit Lage is not an Eldrazi, she is something entirely different, but at the same time very similar.
She, for she does indeed have a gender, like the Eldrazi is able to traverse the blind eternities without the need of a Spark. However, unlike the Eldrazi she does not live there, and also unlike the Eldrazi she does have color. She is also, much, much, much more physically powerful than most, if not all, Eldrazi. Also, whereas Eldrazi warp reality around them by their mere presence, she does not. And finally, unlike the Eldrazi she does not appear to devour mana.

The search function on Blogatog is somewhat wonky, but I'm pretty sure that he said that snow in MH1 doesn't change its chance to appear in Standard. Might be misremembering, though.
It wasn't on the blog, he said that in one of his 2 preview articles while explaining the backstory of the set design

I'm not sure why they haven't just outright said that snow mana is snow mana. Especially if we get snow token generators. It seems to be functionally the same as every other color produced.
Garruk will be back in Kaldheim. He will have snow mana in his casting cost.
Garruk will have a + or - target creature loses indestructilbe until end of turn. So he may "kill" Marit Lage.
Why would Garruk on Kaldheim care about Marit Lage?
Garruk is a hunter in search of the largest prey possible, wouldn't a 20/20 titan be considered worthy of Garruk to hunt?

Marit Lage was not in Kaldheim tho, maybe it(she) could go there after its release from the sea in Dominaria where she got trapped after the shard formed(and the ice age begguined) but i guess it would be kind dumb to risk get trapped again, but again with the story we got in war i can't doubt on it as a possibility.
