Man they're really just testing what mechanics they can put together in this set and I'm really into it. Convoke on its own would have made that card meh but delve on top of that is spicy.

The colored mana *requires* Convoke, but it seems like the deck that plays this can get that from Bloodghasts or whatever. How early can Dredge cast this big spicy boi?
So, to cast this card you need at least two black and/or green creatures on the battlefield in addition to five cards in your graveyard with the caveat that every additional creature you have on the battlefield can reduce the number of cards you need in your graveyard by one. Obviously, if you're tapping seven creatures to cast Hogaak, you're doing something wrong, so this will really only see play in graveyard-based decks.

Mining modern on tcg Chanel played a non lands dredge in modern once, the deck was ok but without luck you could not do anything before turn 3. With this maybe things would be way easy for that deck

Well if dredge somehow needed another finisher this works nicely. With a nice dredge hit can probably get this out on 2 turn and pretty consistently by turn 3. Seems like it must be worth at least having 1. A nice way to get around some GY hate like grafdiggers cage or tormod's crypt, relic etc (obviously casting from hand) but just the fact if your GY is locked anyway you can delve it all away for him. That being said I guess it still lines up poorly vs tron, UW control, humans and phoenix which are the 4 most played decks on mtgo at the moment...
