Like I wrote in an other topic I would have prefered a god version but it seems logical alongside Urza pre-planeswalker.
It seems that we still have to wait again for the Father of the Machines...
However nice art for him, we can recognize the phyrexian symbol on his right and the shapes on his chest seen in InQuest issue : https://mtg.gamepedia.com/File:Yawgmoth_InQuest.jpg
The flavor is real on this one. It fits Yawgmoth’s character perfectly.
Also, there’s going to be a price spike on cards with undying, namely Geralf’s Messenger.
hey what do you know your right it does combo with undying
sac the creature then put the -1/-1 counter on the creature you just killed
and you know what you can infinite with that trick with Zulaport Cutthroat and blood artist because it negates the fee of 1 life
Won't work like that.
The moment you sacrifice to pay the cost you can't target the creature returned with undying as it isn't returned yet. Or am I wrong?

You’re not wrong, you would just put another -1/-1 counter on the creature after it returns to erase the +1/+1 counter it got from undying, then sacrifice it again.

oh the undying and yawgmoth trigger wouldn't stack?
i just thought the undying trigger triggers to be put ontop of the stack

Problem is not the order of the triggers, but the targeting: you have to choose targets when you activate the ability and at that point your creature with undying isn't on the board anymore (or yet), but is waiting for the undying trigger to resolve and return to the battlefield.
Yet if you have 2 creatures with undying, you can cycle through them.

ok gotcha
its the has to pick a target before the resolve problem
He's here boys and girls. The ultimate big bad himself, in human form. Finally, we have pretty much every major character from MtG lore in black-border. We are lacking a few side characters like Gix, but honestly, this set delivered big time lore-wise.
And boy, he's good. Costless sacrifice engine that kills creatures, draws cards and has a very relevant protection clause, all for a measly lifepoint? Sweet baby Jesus that is strong. Probably the best Aristocrat enabler ever made, and wouldn't be surprised at all to see him hitting Constructed. The proliferation is just a nice bonus, and I honestly think he might be even stronger than Urza when it comes down for Modern applications (but Urza is still much stronger in Commander).
sorry thats incorrect theres still a few missing
gix
belbe
gaea
leshrac
jared
and theres a few other well known phyrexians as well
Those aren't major characters. Gix is probably the most important one in your list, and he's still a "man behind the man" character that manipulated Mishra but accomplished pretty much nothing and had an uncertain fate in the end. If we're listing side characters, the list is far bigger and includes far more important characters (Kerrick, Taysir, Ratepe, aforementioned Guff/Bo Levar), but I'm talking about major characters here, aka. main protagonists and antagonists.
For you to activate the ability you need to pay the cost then choose targets. (this includes the sac)
You will not have the undying creature back at the momment you choose the targets for the ability because undying uses the stack and neither players would have the priority before you finish choosing targets for yawg.
Once you have choosen the target for it, it is oficially in the stack and on top of that enters the Undying trigger.
You get the Undying creature after that and then yawg ability resolves.
Soo no you can't target the same creature-card you sacrificied to activate this.
117.1. A cost is an action or payment necessary to take another action or to stop another action from taking place. To pay a cost, a player carries out the instructions specified by the spell, ability, or effect that contains that cost.

How so? He barely seems more important than, say, Kerrick, unless I'm forgetting some major story thread that happened where he was the major antagonist.

Gix very much returned later on in the story, and was involved in what ended Xantcha and Ratepe. He ended up dying in that same confrontation. For Urza, it was a bit of closure at the cost of his dearest (at the time) friend.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.

Future Sight (and maybe other?) novel. He is the cause of a lot of the issues throughout the entire Time Spiral crisis.
So, does this make it into the humans deck? Card is really strong in the mirror and the life ability lets you cycle dead creatures for spells later on. Proliferate would be amazing with champion/lieutenant but deck is unable to make BB and I don't see how it ever could. So is the card strong enough without the last line of text? Maybe as a 1 of or in the sideboard for the mirror?
Indeed. And being that this is an American card game it's a pretty difficult theme to go for. It's getting easier though as with Mairsil, Jodah, Raff, Tomik, and now Yawgmoth showing that Wizards is more willing to include pretty boy designs for legendary creatures.

That CMC isn't very vial friendly, and double black is going make him harder to play than Kitesail Freebooter, even after discounting the second activated ability outright. Humans tends not to run very many expendable creatures, especially with Kessig Malcontents, so you'll only ever sacrifice anything in response to removal or a board wipe.

Now i'm affraid we won't see Gix or Volrath anytime soon. Msybe an updated Gerrard?
“I once had an entire race killed just to listen to the rattling of their dried bones as I waded through them.”
—Volrath
Don’t worry I wouldn’t count gix out
Besides he could be a rare card or the other mono black mythic
Volrath has to be 216 so he has only one shot at this maro said he’s dimir
and as for both theres also commander 2019 of where those two could be
they gave us an updated Sisay, so there's a good chance we will get a Gerrard.
And maybe.. just maybe... an updated Hanna and Tangarth as well.
