the article specifically states: "Wrenn is the being in front and Six is a Treefolk host carrying Wrenn around. Six is the sixth Treefolk, a mech-like vehicle for Wrenn to symbiotically pilot"

"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again"
+1 immediately makes me think of Seismic assault & Ayulas Influence.
Definately has many uses to combine.
-1 i dislike a lot. Especially as it's so boring, basic, low impact & has no synergy whatsoever with +1.
@ least add somethin like:
In addition you may discard a land card to deal 2 more damage.
-7 is irrelevant obv. But then not, since it can win the game.
+1 inplies & Seismic-assault Decks, but the rest does not.
Just weird. I love this character-design though.
I have to agree that just the Treefolk being the walker would have been much cooler but alas......we are only able to identify and be comfortable with humans

Been a member here for over a dozen years. Playing since '95 just got lost in the twitch shuffle.
Is it just me or is this ridiculously powerful? Gets itself out of Bolt range even if you don't have a land to return (but, hey, likely you do have a Fetch...), can kill weenies, low-on-loyalty planeswalkers, and perhaps even a player here and there, and as the ultimate is an emblem, you can just fuel it thereafter with the +1 each turn, and what is essentially "Buyback 0" can be pretty ridiculous with a bunch of cards.

I'm betting on Wrenn being a dryad then a human.

The fact that it's a humanoid and treefolk "fusion" actually makes it a bit more unusual. I immediately got weird Aaroniero Arruruerie vibes when I looked at the artwork.
But I'd agree that a straight up treefolk walker would also be a nice design to see independently of my desire for bizarre magical beings that happen to include human faces.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
this seems like a very good control card. The colors are sort of awkward, but +1 card advantage a turn for 2 mana is very powerful. The ultimate is very meh, but a 2 mana walker with a game winning ult would be busted. The -1 is actually very relevant, in modern and legacy as it picks off bob, hierarch, and other utility creatures as well as a lili of the veil after she minuses. I can definitely see this finding it's way into legacy lands. It's not going to rock the format or anything, but it doesn't hurt to have options.

If only this guy answered the planar beacon. Like, "Ok we have gathered to strategize against the Dreadhorde but first...Wrenn & Six what the heck are you actually even supposed to be?!"
Card is sweet obviously. I kinda just wish that it was just a stright up tree folk/elemental without needing to also be a human or near-human like 99% of other walkers.
In fact, this probably would have been even more creative if it was a treefolk + other non-humanlike race .

I don’t know who this is but this is a redemption of the whole Tibalt incident
+1 basicly crucible
-1 in what world would anybody use that minus ability just ping for
-7 retrace everything in the yard lord Windgrace decks rejoice
I mean it's a damage to any target. If you're on the play this would allow you to pick off a turn 1 mana dork. That seems more than reasonable for a 2 mana walker with other abilities. Card is really strong
I think Wrenn is also good as CMC 2 walker since really you would want to play her later a few turns after your second and by then you can also cast other things that might help you protect her. She takes a bit to get an ultimate and the card wants you to wait an extra turn since you can use her +1 to get back the land you discard to retrace. And her negative -1 is ok and can kill off a few things here and there.

You say that now but if Wrenn isn't good aligned she might have tried to get Vitu'Ghazi as seven if it hadn't taen down by the god eternals.
For that matter, Wrenn is not the first red or green planeswalker to care about lands.
Thats my issue with most of the red/green walkers they ended up being creature based and all want the same abilities. Wrenn is land based it seems and again kinda trending on Nissa but the R dose add some options, epscally if Nissa shows up GU time to time. Kinda how Teferi is taking Venser card abilities, I could see Wrenn playing into Windgrace like space (as she has done already) and care about lands in graveyards and have Nissa animate/ramp them from your deck.

Those only had one n in "Wrenn," though. So not quite the same.
Though could still be related given closely similar naming compounds that already exist. Izzet guild/niv-mizzet, ummm, idk but etc. In short, yeah close enough.
It seems like he's riding it Jaeger-style. I might call it Specific Jim. Maybe the first five Groots Jaegers got Kaiju'ed to death. Maybe this is the scene where Five is crushed to death.
While I suspect this not to be the case, the art makes me think it’s a fusion from when Emrakul invaded Innistrad, and that the trauma of the fusion caused the spark to ignite, carrying this guy and the tree he just got stuck to far away.
If that’s even remotely close, I’m crossing my fingers that we finally get an Eldrazi that is good but doesn’t break at least one format along the way.

Given that Wrenn resembles a certain pale vampire, that theory could be correct; however, we've been told that the treefolk, Six, gets its name by being the "sixth" treefolk that Wrenn has fused with. Odds are Wrenn is just a special dryad, perhaps from a plane we don't know. Afterall, they have an accomplice and we haven't seen that relationship yet with any other planeswalkers.

I can just imagine Teyo freaking out at Wrenn & Six's appearance, and one of the old guard, like Teferi, being all, "Kid, this isn't even the weirdest thing I've seen this week."
