Ob Nixilis - truly the Sun Tzu of the Magic Verse.
Edict is a lot worse for Modern now that Lilian's Triumph exists, making this purely limited fodder now :(.
Exclude is also unlikely to see play, and seeing it at uncommon and Prohibit at common is making me reaaaal nervous that Counterspell isn't gonna make it.

I was sure Edict would make it in this set then the WAR edict made me sure it wouldn't. Now I'm just left confused why wizards wasted a slot on a card that is literally worse than 1 printed in standard a few weeks ago. I like the card but it's a big letdown.
Also exclude while a cool card is not good enough for modern play and as Hawk7915 mentioned we've already got 2 counterspells now which is making a literal counterspell less likely. They wouldn't print counterspell at rare so would they really have so many different ones at the lower rarity? The 1 saving grace is exclude is an essence scatter effect so that might be different enough to allow a proper counter as well.
It will be so disappointing if counterspell doesn't make the cut.

I've abandoned hope that I'll ever get to say "No." in Modern. We've had three counterspells - one new, two reprints - spoiled thusfar, and all are conditional.
Unconditional denial at UU? Not in the cards.

May your games be chaotic and your decks be Rogue.
And the Most Pointless Reprint award goes to....*drum roll* TA-DA, yes,Diabolic Edict, you did it, yay!. Why didn't they just reprint Innocent Blood instead? Diabolic Edict has become completely outclassed by Liliana's Triumph so why not reprint something else that may see play and helps both against cheap creature decks that go wide, or slower decks that drop only one big creature at a time.
so weird on the diabolic edict, they should have just reprinted chainers edict, to lower the cost in pauper (also made it into an actual common already).
This thread is full of idiots... Lightning Bolt is NOT being reprinted.
Many times has a writer in Wizards said so, because of the plain and simple fact that it's too powerful for what it costs. x/3 creatures shouldn't be able to die at instant speed for one mana without a signifigant drawback. (like PTE giving you a land)
I absolutely guarantee that LB will not be printed in M10, and you can quote me on that.
| UBRG D. Shadow | WUBRG Humans | BRG Dredge | UG Infect |
EDIT: Wait, creature. Nevermind lol.
The triumph can slip past hexproof and since liliana of the veil is highly played in modern clearly that bonus effect will be seen in action in modern
