An Astral Slide variant with Cycling? And one that's properly formatted to only trigger off your own cycles? Neat. Modern Horizons is the perfect place to fix old cards with functional bugs, like how Astral Slide triggers off any player cycling instead of just you. If Cycling is one of MH1's major mechanics, maybe we'll get a Cycling Matters legend to go along with it? Or at least a discard matters legend.
I wonder if they would dare print a UR Wizard legend with the rules text "Instant and sorcery spells you cast have Storm"? I mean, Thousand-Year Storm virtually did that, though TYS's variant only counts spells you've cast that turn.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
I don't remember Flusterstorm being Modern legal, looks like I missed something.
You didn't. This set features half reprints from not modern legal cards bringing them into modern and the other half will be new cards.
That’s not quite true. My understanding is 50 of the cards will be reprints new to Modern with the rest of the cards being wholly new to Modern cards. At the same time, I’m sure there are a ton of these “Astral Drift” cards that are more or less the original with a slight variation to fit Modern templating or whatever, in this case being mostly better than the original, or like Cabal Therapist which is more of a callback than a variation per se and just mostly worse
My fear is that Flusterstorm is the blue card they consider as the strongest card in the set (during the live where they introduced us to the Serra PW).

The "50 reprints" thing has been bounced around here but noone seems to have a direct source of that.

Also, Cabal Therapist being the 80th card of the set directly contradict this theory. The new cards should be at least more than 80.

That's not how card numbering works.
That’s how card numbering worked for both conspiracy sets. New cards first then reprints.
Yup exactly. And that's how worked also for Battlebond and Commander sets.
So, I'm sorry Huaojozu, but yes, that's how card numbering works for all supplemental sets with new cards.
But... that still doesn't mean that there won't be 50 reprints, right? It just means that there is over 80 new cards, and the set will have over 130 cards so 50 reprints fit in no problem. Or am I missing something?

Ah yes, you are right on this one. I misread that "50" was referring about the new cards but he was talking about the reprints. Since after black we still got green, red, multicolor, artifacts and eventually new lands, seems like this time we will a have a percentage of new cards vs reprints comparable at least at Core Sets level.
Ok, now a little math speculation. Assuming that the number of cards will be roughly the same for all monocolors for limited color balance, I expect something like 35 new cards for color. Why I say so? Because since cards are also listed with an alphabetical order, I can roughly guess based on what letter they start, how much cards we'll have for that color. For example Serra got a collector number of 26/254, which means that the total number of white cards must be more than 25 for sure and "S" is suggesting us that we're leaning through the end of the new white cards. So why I say 35 and not 30? Because if the cards were divided for each color with only 30 cards, that would mean that white and blue would take 60 slots, leaving 19 empty black slots before reaching Cabal Therapist. But since Cabal Therapist start with "C" an early letter (and "Cab" even suggest that he is even the first card that start with that letter), seems very unlikely that we will have 20 cards that all start with only the A and B and the other 15 cards that are named with the rest of the alphabet.
So, 35-38 for each color is the most convincing theory, considering also eventually non-artifact colorless or any other special card before white (like the Partners cards in Battlebond). If that is true I predict that we will have from 175 to 190 new cards, and that taking in account just all the five basics color. If we count eventual multicolor, artifacts and land cards we could go from 190 to around 200 new cards, so the "50 only reprints" theory seems very likely actually.
are u sure its a buy a box promo ?
in our store we dont get the promos in a plastic bag. this is only true for prerelease promos. i know this one doesnt have like the astral thing, but that they use a reprint as a box promos makes me really wonder

Do you see also the collector number of the pseudo-astral slide? that could maybe tell us if it's likely that there are special cards before white or not.

Flusterstorm? Glad I don't need this expensive card at all.

WRONG!
He’s right cabal therapist does confirm the 50 reprints thing fake
In supplement sets (conspiracy/battlebond/commander/and so on and so forth) the new cards come first in the count look at battlebonds order of cards
https://scryfall.com/sets/bbd?order=set&as=grid
The 85 new cards come first
Then the reprints after that

Crossing my fingers for enemy bicycle lands (amonkhet duel lands)
a BG bicycle land would be so nice.

Because if that's the case I'll probably be facing some dire expenses for my angels collection -_-
We don't know. We have no information on this promo, it was just something leaked.
