Ya same here. Got the no go email but it's still showing on ebay as paid. Part of me has hope that it's the first one that didn't go through that was cancelled but the other one is still good.
ill just note that i havent seen a single report of someones ebay order history being updated since the sale 'ended' on wed, including cases with refunds fully clearing and being posted to accounts (in other words 0% chance of getting product).

It's not an email. It's a message you would have on your Ebay account. This is the exact message. I've talked with Ebay. The refund can take up to 72 hrs to go through. Mine has not appeared back on my credit card yet.
Hello,
Yesterday, Wizards of the Coast launched the exclusive Magic: The Gathering War of the Spark Mythic Edition card set on their eBay Hasbro store. The excitement for this set was overwhelming: 12,000 booster boxes sold out almost instantly, and technical issues resulted in the set being oversold beyond the limited quantity available. As a result, we were not able to successfully complete your order. We’ll issue your refund very shortly in your original form of payment.
It's safe to say that Jace and his War of the Spark Mythic Edition pals broke the internet yesterday. Yikes. We want to make sure you still have a chance to get in on some action.
First, eBay will be sending you a virtual gift card towards a future purchase in a separate email. Keep your eyes open for that. Secondly, we're working with Wizards of the Coast to send something special to every person whose order was canceled. You'll hear more about that delivery in a future email from us.
Your experience yesterday wasn't what we wanted or you expected, and we hope you accept these tokens of thanks from us and Wizards of the Coast.
Are you saying no one is reporting getting a refund? I'm not seeing any shipping information yet. Seems dead on both sides so far.
ah sorry if i wasnt clear, i meant there are reports with people getting refunds, with the funds showing up as pending or cleared at their bank; yet even in these cases the ebay order history has not been updated to reflect that. ive seen no one saying its been updated at all with anything, ever, past the sale ending days ago. however its safe to say that if money is clearly returned, there is no way your order will be fulfilled outside a fluke; meaning what is showing on 'me ebay' purchase history is irrelevant.
I do hope those who had their orders processed, paid for, then cancelled get some kind of compensation from WotC (not just an Ebay gift card).
I was also one of the "Lucky ones". So grats on getting a confirmed box from Ebay. That's good news.
I think a $20 gift card is a massive compensation though. I honestly can't believe that people actually expect more than that. I wouldn't complain about a free box topper as well as a $20 gift card. But I wouldn't expect it.
Frankly I think the only way I could possibly be happy with this turn of events at this point is if they announced a second print run, and people who were screwed over get to pre-order it.
Definitely not happening, though, so they could give me a thousand dollar gift card and I'd still be let down.
Indeed. If its happened this many times...its intentional.
It will keep happening. Although they botched it all 3 times the amount of people who wanted this and tried to buy it is Proof of concept.
The low print run is the killer here. Expect more mythic editions with small print runs so we all kill each other and give hasbro another 3 million in 5 minutes.
right, but this was particularly bad. hasbro/wizards made the effort of moving to ebay after the GRN one was botched, then the RNA ran relatively smoothly with the biggest errors seeming to work out in the customers favor if anything (people being shipped double the boxes).
from what i have seen it appears that the biggest hangup is because hasbro/wizards is using ebay. having completely separate entities (id throw paypal in there as well) like this trying to coordinate fixes and solutions in a timely manner probably just wasnt possible with their limited lines of communication and inability or unwillingness to share information.
the sale itself being a clown show is expected to a degree, but taking days and days to resolve it with no one having or giving the information people need to tell where they stand in the proceedings is on another level of crappy experiences.
for example i thought i might be getting a box after luckily being one of the chosen to get a congratulations email/message. however it appears that many have been updated with shipping information, while i have not. so now i have no clue, and might not get anything. ebay doesnt and wont ever have all that shipping info, because its done by hasbro and needs to be updated on the ebay site by them. the same goes for hasbro presumably deciding who would be included in the 12k, but ebay having to be the ones emailing and messaging.

its even worse with the refunds because you have hasbro telling ebay telling paypal to refund things. with that much disconnect each party doesnt know the entire situation, since its not as if hasbro can look into paypals process logs, nor can paypal do anything until word comes down from hasbro through ebay.
so yeah i do believe they wont give up on such a ludicrous money maker any time soon, but i have no doubt they would want the sales process to be better than it was this time; and they will take some steps to ensure that. even if they arent as big of or as many steps as a lot of us would like.
I've asked this question on both Facebook and Twitter, but how does a company fairly sell 12,000 units of something to 50,000+ people who want it? What system would be fair? What would survive the DDOS-attack levels of internet traffic? I have an example (what is done for San Diego Comic Con tickets) but I'm curious how others would solve the issues facing this product.
For all international orders, I'm hearing that eBay/Paypal hasn't fully refunded the amount that was paid to them. Tax and shipping specifically were not refunded... can't imagine how much interest that amount of un-refunded money would generate in the coffers of the eBay/Paypal since this debacle... almost 7 days of daily interest being accumulated!

Usually no matter what the solution people will be butthurt. The only answer is if everyone gets one and it's magically worth 10 times what they paid for it even if it's an unlimited print run.

Do we have an idea of how common the "congrats email with no shipping" situation is? I know I'm in that boat right now and it's making me nervous.
im in the same boat. ive read more of the same from comments on reddit, but its such a narrow perspective on what is going on that there is no way to tell how extensive it is.
but yeah, def got the sinking feeling that i got screwed after all.
