The power keeps creeping. Aven Eternal is 3 power for 3 mana, two of which are flying, in blue, at common. Blue, the color that traditionally sucked at combat.

Eldrazi Skyspawner was a thing tough. A thing good enough to see some standard play(BFZ era tough....)

It's Eldrazi Skyspawner with +1 toughness but the token isn't a Scion that makes mana. Won't play the same in WAR though due to amass being prevalent.
How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

I'd call it more of a power level reset. The game's been slowed down a LOT over the last several years. I think this set could almost compete with Zendikar or New Phyrexia (but not quite).
Wow, I thought they decided Pegasus Courser was too good for a common. Trusted Pegasus is probably just better given the stat distribution. Both of these strictly better Wind Drakes should be very strong for limited.
I agree, and just throw it on a 0/3 with reach. Card is pushed, but it does give decks running green a great card against control and agrro which is going to help balance out the meta.
Wizards lost a golden oportunity on not doing a generic planeswalker card. like:
Planeswalker Brigade5
Legendary planeswalker (no type)(maybe commnon for pauper )
The “legend rule” doesn’t apply to cards named planeswalker brigade.
+1: do one of 3 effects at random (simple effects like scry 1; creatures you control gets +1/+1 ueot; draw a card then discard a card at random; etc)
-2: do one of 3 somewhat powerfull efect
and in the art show alot of diferent walkers, and during the set make cards of eternal killing the walkers of the brigade...
I think we all know that in 1-2 years we will have to say "no, there was more planeswalker casualities in the set, but just 36 walkers protagonists in it"

Skyspawner is a pretty strong common.
Looks like just a rando and not one of the planeswalkers.
Me too.
But they missed the opportunity of introducing ‚sloth‘ as a new creature type.

Numquam evolutioni obstes. Solum conculceris.
Pascite draconem, evolvite aut morimini.
There were others spoiled eternals with the bird creature type tho.
