You know the set is going to be insane when people are poo-pooing a 5/4 trample for 4 cms with repeating card advantage and no downside.
Not like this is a new phenomenon. Creatures that need to both survive a turn and get in for combat damage before accruing value tend to be weaker than they look. Like, how often will this card be better than just casting Golgari Findbroker? And how often will it be worse because it dies immediately?
It seems like a pretty "meh" card to me. Good for Limited, obviously, but that's about it.
yea, thats probably the reason why people dont play Thief of Sanity ... oh wait
it just depends on the situation, and here and there both, this legend and the fiendbroker have a place. fiendbroker is good for cards like krasis, and is just better when there is a full board. this guy has a much better body and on an empty board he helps u increasing the pressure for getting cards back without having to pay for them.
overall i agree with you and would say, the findbroker is better, cause his effekt is more independent and less risky, but it is not like this guy is unplayable. trampel and a good 2 mana removal could easily enable him ^^
in the Guildmaster's Guide, Storrev is the leader of the Erstwhile, not a Devkarin....
Devkarin are a race of Ravnican elves, which she is. The Erstwhile are agroup of Devkarin, of which she is the current leader. I’m not sure what the issue is here.
I'm seriously curious about why this needed to be conditional to not put there this combat? Is there some sort of loop of extra combats I'm missing? Hmmm maybe to just avoid confusion about whether you could normally target a creature that died in combat? Which double checking it definitely looks like you can. Oh I see, with trample raise deading itself might be a little much, swing, trade a creature and get him back from his own ability would be pretty strong.
Pretty sure that self recursion isn't the reason because the way it's worded you can loop a second copy just fine.

Seems like flat was talking about recurring ONE card over and over. A 1 card recursion engine is way different from a 2-card engine.

It's so close to Neheb's design that we can wish for a cycle. Or a fight between those two in the story.
Seriously, Limited bomb, we'll see if someone can filth this up in Commander...

We definitely need more dwarf mutant citizens though.
