I mean it's 8 mana and a sac outlet just to run the loop, but I like it for big mana EDH decks. Seems like the kind of thing the Omniscient might be into though, you know, for the Greater Good...
Find // Finality has this beat in Creature-based decks, but still, Instant-speed +1 in mono-G is still super solid. Compared to the usual 4-mana Draw-2U gets nowadays, 5 mana doesn't seems that overpriced for this effect either.
If there's a Superfriends Control deck in Standard, I could see this being a solid option. Even if it doesn't, mono-G EDH will still love it.
I’m glad this doesn’t exile. Not for balance reasons, but exile clauses on cards like this annoy me and I don’t think they are neccessary.
Exile clauses are only included when multiple copies of a card could loop themselves. Since this returns permanent cards, you'd need a different card (the aforementioned Eternal Witness) to loop, which means you are not gaining as much card advantage.
Wow thanks god they didnt print the obnoxious "exile this card" on this one.
That made me SICK that they threw the self exile on everything just to avoid any potential loop.
As Rowan noted above, they didn't because there's no implicit loop here. This gets permanent cards. This isn't a permanent card. It can't get another one of these as one of the two things it gets. If it could, that's when and why they'd put the exile clause.
The exile clause on Vivid Revival *was* unnecessary and dumb (kinda makes me think it was mulicolored in development, they changed it to mono-G, and never addressed the now unnecessary exile clause). But otherwise there's method to it.
Being an instant is interesting. That mean you have a different option for The Mirari Conjecture loops. Not amazing, but definitely a step up from the usual regrowth style effects

I much prefer the Seasons Past clause to exile. Makes looping difficult but possible, which makes it fun.

Instant makes this kinda neat, imho.

Spark is pretty common obviously, but I am gobsmacked that they used this name tbh.

They didn't put an exile clause on Find // Finality, Macabre Waltz, March of the Drowned, or Soul Salvage either, for the same reason. Restock and Seeds of Renewal and All Suns' Dawn and Bound // Determined have it because they can get other copies of themselves.
