The Skyguard is decent in limited. I'd rather have a Sky Spirit for -1/-1 and half the cost. The Admonition is a conditional cantrip for 2U. Move along.

My brother and I designed the exact same card as arrester's adominition, however we had it at 2 CMC, not 3. I feel like any time there are spell based mechanics they almost ALWAYS over cost them from a modern point of view (I don't play a lot of standard). I was excited for Rebound and it was way overcosted on every card. I was excited for spell mastery and it stunk for the most part. I was excited for jump-start and it was underwhelming. Not all of the cards with those mechanics were bad, but non really affected modern. Now I was excited to get at least one decently costed addendum card, but again most of them seem overcosted. I figured the bounce spell would be the most "safe" card to push a bit in terms of using addendum because it doesn't fit into every deck, but I was wrong. I think my standards too high because I play modern almost solely. However, it seems like the creature based mechanics are pushed every set and the spell based mechanics get the shaft. I may just have too high of standards because I play modern delver.
With that said, this should be a good limited card and could see some standard play.
Between this, not Azorius Charm and Blink of an Eye it looks like there may be something weirdly akin to Taking Turns possible in Standard (with the caveat that it rewinds your opponent's last turn rather than taking extra turns)
Arrestor's admonition seems great with goblin electromancer, but we already have blink of an eye which can be cast for 2, so this is just limited fodder.
skyguard is lit. We'll have to see how many 4 toughness fliers are at common, but I seems pretty busted. stalling out the ground plus plus a flying threat seems right where azorius wants to be.

Sounds like you should play Standard
I think you might be right. I did play standard for awhile during the original Innistra and Return to Ravnica days. I stopped around M14/Theros. I kind of moved onto to modern and due to time constraints (running company, family, etc). Modern worked out better for me. I also cube draft each week. I have had an itch to get back into standard lately because it looks like a great environment for an Izzet/Jeskai pleyer. I may just have to scratch the itch.

But it's still a big ugh. A far cry from Repulse, which I don't think would break standard, modern, or limited.
