Abusable and fun... gunna really leave scars behind in limited. That second part pretty much feels like a game winning card if you already have at least 6 more points of life than your opponent.
Also, quite interesting what design space is opened up when you start limiting the target range my giving a parameter of the cards cost.
Ohhhh, I like this. Interesting that Kaya is on Revenge. I know that the guild master is always on it, but perhaps there is a personal reason that Kaya chose to take out the Obzedat?
Oh Revival is going to be stupid in Alesha decks. As for Revenge, it looks potentially interesting to pair with the new Angel to essentially reset your lif eback to 20.. which is a brutal blow against aggro.

She seemed to have a grudge with spirits when she took out Brago... it wasn't explained... I have a hunch though that she could have been Orzhov all along and learned what she did in order to gain enough power to take out the Council. Just saying.

MTG Junky... First packs being a starter of each 4th Edition and Ice Age. Good Grief, I've been playing since 1995? Where does the time go!

this is mtgs, where occam's razor is so blunt it can't cut jello any more.
I kinda wish the card was just revival so I could play it in modern and not get absolutely thrashed by a bob trigger lol. This is really cool in standard though, bring back a knight of autumn, militia bugler, plaguecrafter, plague mare, that zombie knight, there's a lot of potential here.
A versatile split rare where that's the cheap half of it, sure. I mean that's like dismissing Response // Resurgence for being a rare Sandblast. Well, no. These splits are deliberately designed in the "Big expensive splashy effect on the right, but if you need to use the cheap and less impressive half sooner than that, the card can do that for you instead."
Cheeri0s was playing Claim//Fame for this effect, this does much the same without forcing you to splash black, and can also get back Monastery Mentor for some value-filled combo turns.

true.. this is essentially Plaguecrafter number 5-8 Not bad for Orzhov control. just keep killing dudes/PWs... And could be funny in Mardu Aristocrats (play plaguecrafter, sack him to himself, ping everyone from the new rakdos witch, reanimate it, sac again, ping again, ect.)

Two mana Unearth that trades cycling for a second card half that simultaneously Beacon of Immortalitys yourself and Quietus Spikes your opponent? Sounds rare to me.
I could see it landing somewhere in a fringe Modern deck. Whether it can be abused or not, I'm not sure.

Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
So this card grabs back Judith, legion warboss, and Plaguecrafter in mardu aristocrats... in addition to the bugler (who can grab Warboss, Judith, and Teysa)... this deck is slowly assembling itself.
Edit: You gain life first, so you would drain and then the halving would happen, which wouldn't necessarily kill your opponent.
Actually no, even though you'd gain life first, the Sanguine Bond effect would go on the stack as a trigger and wouldn't reesolve until after the halving was long past. It would usually one shot, but if you did this when you were at, like, 4 life and your opponent was at 20, it wouldn't kill them. (first you'd go to 8 and the Sanguine Bond trigger would occur, then opponent would lose 10 life, then this spell would finish resolving and the sanguine bond trigger would go on the stack, and when that resolved your opponent would lose another 4 life).

Elspeth and Jhoira rock my world.
What's really cool, though, in my book, is that you can play it in mono white or W/X.

If they are among the top 4 cards of your library, that is.

It will always be a one shot with Wound Reflection.
