Ouch. Menace and vigilance is a scary combination of keywords to give something. Might be a solid Limited pick considering there will be lots of Gates floating around.

Aside from that, the card looks nice. Gives incentive to play Gates even if you're not in GU Gates.
Probably a bit Etymology is why it is showing a sword. Glaive comes either from Gladius, Latin for sword, or Cladivos, Celtic for Claymore, depending on who you ask. Glaive came to mean polearm from its use as sword in I want to say the 14th century. Though rare I have heard the term Glaive used to describe a Roman style sword because of this.
That's... not a glaive, though. A glaive is a polearm, not a sword.
This. It's not a glaive at all, and I can't believe a bunch of dudes that play D&D like Trick or others never pointed this out.
Card is nuts though, going to end some lives in Limited, geez.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
Card seems great, but sadly, Gates aren't usually played in the kind of deck that would want this. Still a Limited all-star, and could see some casual FNM play.
For me a glaive is a Roman short sword. It's the first time ever that I hear that it could also mean a polearm...
Isn't that a Gladius? Guardman above says something about the etymology of the word, but I know a gladius is one of those short swords the Roman legionnaires use.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Its not a glaive. Someone screwed up somewhere and let this get through. Just like the Hybrid Izzet card announced that was lacking "at the end of the turn". QC has screwed up twice. I'm not surprised.

Okay apparently you can use the word Glaive for a sword, whenn you are French.
