roughly translated Truefire CaptainRRWW Creature — Human Knight {UC}
Mentor
Whenever Truefire Captain is dealt damage, it deals that much damage to target player.

It's super (all damage) reverse (even when it blocks) trample. And a decent mentor.
While devotion is a possibility, it could be simply to show the radicalization of guilds. And prevent drafting 5-colors good-stuff. Given the amount of fixing in the set, that would be a real risk. With these mana costs, people can't just grab every good cards regardless of colors. I approve, as a few players at my store would always draft 5 colors in multi-color sets, screwing signals and decks.
I hate this cycle because of the mana costs. Not only is it 4 coloured mana symbols but now everything has to go right in order for this to come out on curve. Even in R/W this is tough.
I mostly hate it but I do wonder if there's almost enough of this sort of creature to build a Blasphemous Act deck in Modern yet... It was definitely too fragile to build that deck around just Boros Reckoner but a second redirector might make it...ummm... plausible?

spitemare is also a decent card, dunno about for modern though.

Yeah I put a basic frame together and realized that Blasphemous Act might work as a curve topper but the whole concept seems really weak against permission. It would have to be a strange sort of aggro deck that starts immediately but curves up to five instead of three. Those usually end up being strictly worse versions of RDW in my experience. I'm not feeling it.
So, she has +1/+0 and mentor over Spitemare, but is a lot more color-intensive. Or, she has +1/+0 and mentor over Boros Reckoner, but costs a bit more and is a lot more color-intensive. (The first strike for (R/W) was just trinket text in case of Typhoid Rats, Sedge Scorpion, and the like.)
Tribal benefits are an interesting comparison. Actually, I want nothing more than to pair her with Knight Exemplar.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

I have a blas. act deck in modern that actually performs really well. It's 4 color, but with modern manabase I haven't actually found that to be a problem. I might drop black or green and add this in, if I can make it work. For that type of deck, Hornet Nest is an all-star. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/dune-boardwipe-beesburn/ it works incredibly well.
Not quite the Spitemare ability, but not terrible. Get a few of these on the battlefield, then sound off your Deafening Clarion.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Yeah, I have a feeling my draft choices will be dictated pretty early on by stuff like this.
GENERATION 12: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your signature and add 1 to the generation number. It's a social experiment.
spitemare is also a decent card, dunno about for modern though.
