Goblin BanneretR Creature — Goblin Soldier {UC}
Mentor 1R: Goblin Banneret gets +2/+0 until end of turn. The Boros banner stands tall even if its bearer doesn't.

Oh, I thought it meant... (Wait, Frogtosser Banneret already exists to that end.)
Two of these can alternate back and forth with mentoring pretty readily for a while (at a cost of two mana every other turn), which is cute, I guess, but otherwise, well, it's just a small creature that has mentor. Not a whole hell of a lot to say here. Where's my Ornithopter reprint?
(EDIT: Whoops, I'm stupid and I just noticed it's +2/+0 for 2 mana. This is a little bit better as a result, then, but probably not the back-breaker we were all quietly hoping for out of this mechanic.)
Boros is just begging for some kind of Ride Down effect. It's clear that they have the Mentor effects that can chain back and forth, but it's meaningless if they just keep dying.
I wonder if they're going to make a 0/2 Double Striking one-drop...
Why yes, I would like to pump my Signal Pest turn 2...
How are you getting both of them out turn 1, or giving them Haste? Both must be attacking for Mentor to do anything.
Oh, I forgot that both need to attack. I can see this card maybe in a ultra aggro deck with Signal Pest, Memnite, Simian Spirit Guide, Sharpenal Blast and all the fast stuff.
I find it strange how folks forget equipment exists. I'd grumble about this guy being uncommon, but asking for it to be common would be asking for too much. Goes right into my Kari Zev troll commander deck.

"Masques Block is the worst block ever! There's not one decent card in there! The whole internet say's so, you're literally the only person who ever said it was good!" - random noob in a conversation with an Eldrazi.
This can mentor the 2 mana (2/2) guys but will most likely die if blocked.
Don't you mean "become more powerful than you can possibly imagine"?
(Come on, with a mechanic called mentor, you knew there was going to be an Obi-wan Kenobi joke in one of these cards.)
Sadly, it doesn't make goblins or soldiers cost 1 less to cast.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Still both underwhelmed and annoyed by the mentor mechanic. If you fail to draw combat tricks, all you guys die to the weakest of blocker. If you draw them or your opponent fail to have early drops, you run them over. I hate these all-in strategies. They don't create good limited games.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
